omg - the pizza!
ok...it wasn't the cheapest pizza, and it certainly wasn't he quickest...but by far this was the most delicious pizza i have ever ordered - and ever eaten, in NYC. go Big Nicks.

Husband and I had our first date at Nicks 14 years ago. Food was good back then. Ordered take out for years. No more...ever! Not only has the quality of the food taken a dive, rubbery meatballs, salad w/barely more than lettuce, less meat on souvlaki and other sandwiches, they don't even put fresh basil on pizza anymore - but that doesn't matter because the crust is inconsistent and the sauce is more often than not - sour. Last night did it! A simple order of chicken souvlaki, pasta marinara with a salad - should have cost under $20 + tip. When it arrived, in addition to two items listed there was a huge dinner salad. I asked my husband how much the order was, he answered $29 + tip - he gave the delivery person $33. I asked to see the bill and it was for $24.40 but the $24 looked like $29. I called Big Nicks to let them know that the delivery person had received a $10 tip (he is the usual delivery person), and should have known it was overpaid. The uncouth person I was talking to said it wasn't their fault, we should have caught the mistake. After a few words of disbelief at the attitude, the uncouth person said he would send the delivery person back - he never did.

Slackarsed Delivery
Ordered large pepperoni which was ok but not that great. Tipped the surly delivery guy five bucks for a 2 block delivery. Total cost twenty bucks. Big Nicks a bit over rated. Worth trying elsewhere.

Cool place in NYC
I have been at Big N for three times. 1997, 2000 and 2010. I like the good food, cold beer, great value and best location at Upper West!

Best burgers in NYC
I have eaten here quite a bit over the years - and just ordered delivery again last night from there. I had the Madrid Burger with extra Tzatiki, and OMG it was awesome! Also love the Bistro burger (insanely great) and the Teriyaki burger with an added grilled pineapple ring. Sometimes they even throw in free baklava!

Great delivery!
This is my favorite place to order from on the UWS! Super quick delivery, hot delicious comfort food, and reasonable prices. I love their pizza, and their chocolate shakes are amazing (no one uses enough chocolate in NYC). Also love the meatball and sausage sub. It's not in my neighborhood, but I suspect I will drag friends up there soon.

My Favorite- Oreia!
I love this place. I've only ever gotten take-out, but every time they've gotten my order right and it's been amazingly delicious. Their kofte is wonderful with just the right amount of mint. I love that they're such a joint, but they have amenities like flax-seed lavash and a whole vegetarian menu. Their veggie meatball parm, which sounds suspect, is amazing: fried veggie 'balls that are made out of fresh ground up vegetables including something that looked like edamame, falafel-style but seasoned perfectly to go with the mozz and tomato sauce. I love the food, attitude and style of this place. Once I went here for two meals in one day, in the course of an 8-mile schlep from my home in Harlem and back. I hope Big Nick's sticks around forever. Yammas!
