    Overpriced

I ordered the easy rider 2 eggs good 2 bacon good 2pancakes tiny and they were out of hash brown so my waiter sug tater tots that were good but failed to tell me there would be a 1.00 up charge. Coffee was good. Most real diners in the city charge much less for much more.

    good but overpriced

The waiter was pushy about up selling, and he never asked how our meal was or refilled our drinks. The food came at a speedy rate. The worst part of the place is the prices. Too expensive. I guess that cheezy knock off 50s vibe costs a pretty penny. The food was pretty good though.

    Once, twice, and never again

The first time I went to Big Daddy's on the upper west side, I went to get a milkshake to go with my friend. It was pretty good and we only stayed for three minutes, at tops. After a half day at school, two of my friends went with me to Big Daddy's. One of my friends continued to protest, claiming that it would just be better to go to Subway. Everything was fine. The milkshakes were good and some of my school friends dropped by and they got some milkshakes and fries. The place really started to get busy, and it all went downhill from that. The manager, was, well... Words that i cannot say here. He asked my friends to leave! He really did, because he said that he wanted to get people in here for lunch when they were just having snacks. So, being the great friends we are, we let them into our booth, and it was pretty crowded. So we sat, and ate fries for probably ten minutes, and then someone had to leave for a class. We all had to get up, to get bags, to let her out of the booth, whatever. my friend is heading out the door when the manager looks at us with a deadly glare. "You can't leave. You know you have to pay right?" "I may be dumb but I'm not stupid." - Rihanna. I may be just a middle schooler but I know enough to pay. And, no I don't want a criminal record. I started to get pissed so we asked for the check. $70. May I repeat, 70$ for three people. For a diner. that was incredible. Honestly. So we pulled the manager aside, and asked him about the check. He said: "Oh well. That's the tip. You can't have a $50 meal and give a tip for three dollars. You know, that waiter has to make a living too." Then, I started giving him some major attitude. "Hm. Yeah. Thanks, we really needed to know that." He looked at me as if I was a five year old. He said sarcastically to me: "Hi nice to meet you. I'm sure we're going to get to know each other very well." Sarcasm, whatever. But you don't talk to a paying customer like that. And, you are not supposed to add in your own $20 tip. No, that's the paying customer's decision. Respect any service you will ever get, because for all you know, your business will collapse in the next month. ugh, i should have listened to my friend. Subway would never have a $50 meal to three people. The funny part about this is that the waiter was great, the manager... Words I cannot put here. Long story short, never walk into this place without a videocamera to tape your whole awful experience.

    Staff Issues

Although I used to be a regular customer and enjoyed their breakfast, Big Daddy's hostess and staff are rude to their customers and I will never go back. When you have a loyal, regular customer, a restaurant should treat them with respect. This place doesn't get that.

    I'm staying with Daddy

Now that I am a single woman again, I still enjoy Daddy's - even if I see my ex there. The salads? Luscious. I never go without having one - and a cocktail! Rich gentlemen may prefer bottle blondes but that is OK with this newly declared cougar! I'll be back at daddy's for a delicious meal, and maybe I'll split a chocolate shake with a new friend. They make the best!

    Love it!

I just moved here and live around the corner. I had a burger that was like a gourmet Big Mac. Loved it! And the fries rocked!! I love the food here!! I think I like this better than anywhere else.

    Salads are scrumptious. Burgers?

I simply adore Daddy's. I like to order a salad (fresh) and martini (soothing), and people watch. There is a certain well-to-do gentleman who is a regular I particularly like to observe. He sometimes is there with a young bottle- blonde who likes to look back at me. Daddy's girl! He orders an American Cheese Burger, so I too have tried this. I must say, I will stick to my salad and martini. And I encourage that gentleman NOT to have a tart for dessert. It's not on the menu. Better to have something more rich and aged to perfection. Culinary perfection! And we'll have lunch at Daddy's soon! Just don't tell the blonde, darling!
