Today I ventured into Big Daddy's because it was the closest relatively cheap restaurant to me and I was starving. Upon entering, I realized it was a restaurant with the theme of the decades 1959-1989. I thought I had made a mistake by entering a themed restaurant, but I realized it would be rude to leave the restaurant, so I took a seat and hoped for the best. The kind server promptly took my order and somehow did not smirk when I asked for "The Original Big Mac Daddy" and-here it comes-"Lord of the Fries". When he brought back the food, I tasted it and it wasn't bad, but what was was the atmosphere. I understood that it was a themed restaurant, but this place really overdid it. It was like unnervingly cheery and forcedly vintage.

Who knew you could meet a man at Lucille Roberts? Well, I did, and he loves coming here with me. He calls me "bada bada" and orders the "chicken chicken - deep fried mind you", or a "burger bada bing!". All of which has been superior, by the way, along with the service. We were just like peas on a pod at Daddy's, where we always feel welcome, even if a man from the past shows up sometimes. I may not always have this man in my life, but I WILL always have Daddy.

We had a delicious dinner at Daddy's - Hummus of the Gods? Divine! And Daddy's burger to split "hit the spot".

First off I would like to say that I have been a regular of the UWS (bway) location since it opened. Before that I used to go to the UES location. I love its proximity to my home and it's my children's and their friend's favorite place to eat. Recently, however service has changed for the worse. My family will not be returning. I suspect we will not be the only ones.

My boyfriend and I were seriously starving and quickly typed in to google maps brunch, we randomly picked Big daddy's because of it's proximity to where we were and headed in not knowing what to expect. When presented with the menu we were overwhelemed with choices - each sounding better than the last. When we finally decided we ended up ordering the cookie monster milk shake, chocolate chip silver dollar pancakes, and the mac n cheese with bacon. While yes, I admit, this restaurant is a little pricey, it was worth every penny. My mac in cheese was probably one of the best mac n cheese's I've had (and I consider myself to be a mac n cheese enthusiast). From the breaded top to the perfectly crisp bacon hiding in every mouth watering bite I couldnt get enough of it. This is the type of mac n cheese where when you stick your fork in the cheese goes on for what seems like ever when you go to take a bite. The milkshake had th perfect ice cream to oreo cookie ratio and a wonderful consistency - not too liquidy, but not so frozen that you need a spoon to eat it with. The pancakes were absolutely delicious - huge chocolate chunks as opposed to the usual smaller chips! I can't wait to go back here and try their cookie dough pancakes and get some more mac n cheese!

Well we try again just order a simple turkey burger and they mess it up again. It really sucks when you get home and spent your hard earn cash and you think a simple turkey burger is what you ordered. Not that hard to cook a turkey burger and make it the way you ask for it. No onions, no mayo. Do not waste your time and money. There are many dinners in nyc , just try walking one or two more block in any direction.

I used to eat here fairly often because it had decent comfort food and breakfast all day. Despite it being just a very overpriced diner i kept on coming back. However its been less and less often. They used to have a very large assorted menu which was great but now it was trimmed down alot. I went for the first time in approx 6 months a few weeks ago and when I asked for cream cheese for my toast (I was having an omelette, which was so-so) the waitress told me we don't have cream cheese. Not that they're out of cream cheese but its not offered. I think that really says it all. Stick to the diners or Le Express on 20th which is 24 hours too.
