After seven years on the upper east side, I groaned with dread when my beloved Penang moved down the block to make room for some suburban cookie-cutter diner called Big Daddy's. But after my meal two nights ago, I'm almost embarrassed to say how much I enjoyed this place. I wanted to avoid the packed bars on 2nd ave on St. Paddy's, but was happy to still be able to get a drink. They were busy, but the slightly harried (but professional) manager quickly got my wife and I seated. Had a delicious philly cheesesteak kind of sandwich (everything has a stupid name) and my wife loved her Cobb salad. Great combo of tasty diner food with a bar and sport on. Hilarious manager. Stupid crap on the walls.

Good food, service a bit patchy but made up for with great food. Waited for 45 mins for a table, but was worth it...

My husband and I went there for dinner. There was no wait and we were excited to get a great big booth for the 2 of us. Took a while to get a menu, one of the waitress or hostess threw them at us and continued to be very rude throughout the night. Our actual waiter was very nice, but this woman kept coming by the table treating us terribly. She had an attitude with everyone there! We both got burgers and milk shakes and it ended up being over $40. There are much better places in the area. The decor is a lot of fun, who doesn't love the 80's, but I would never go back.

I should have listened to the reviews and not ordered. I cant believe what they delived cold slab of chicken, two pieces of cold bacon. Don't bother ordering from there it is a waste of money.

I've been 4 times thinking that as I went it would get better. I waited 45 minutes to be seated my last visit. The waiting area alone stinks. There is not space and you feel like you are hovering over those eating. There are a MILLION children running around which is fun, but means larger parties and a longer wait. The food is really yummy, but not worth it if it comes cold. I've had 2 great servers and 2 that really stunk. They aren't rude, just oblivious. Not worth time and energy unless you have patience and aren't starving.

I couldn't wait for this place to open and now that it has I just love this spot. They have been open about a month and are improving every time I go. Love the music and the vibe. The staff is sooo friendly and even though they are packed on the weekends they still manage to make my experience enjoyable every time. The burgers and fries are great and cookie monster shake my favorite. Im just so happy they started delivery now and I can order at home too!!
