My girlfriend and I had been to a sister restaurant that was fantastic. For her birthday I took her to the NYC location. It was good but not great. The service was friendly half the time being friendly yet hurried and the other half of the time stretching "leaving a couple alone" to the point of having to hunt for the staff for the bill.Did not get my amex back for 25 minutes. The food was good. But being NYC and with a restaurant with such a name, you can do much better for the price. Plastic diner like menus, some of the plates needed might have been used a bit into their retirement age. Nice place. Be a tourist and check it out for yourself. But with access to so many more places, this in my opinion is unfortunately just another expensive chain restaurant.I will say though based on the one in Argentina,I would stop in other sister restaurants to give them a try.

Lobster Taglioni is fantastic. Nice chunks of lobster, plenty to take home as well. The Napoleon was light and very flavorful. Custard was supurb.

My husband and I ate at Bice during restaurant week in January. We intended to order off of the restaurant week menu, but the menu was so limited and uninteresting that we just ordered off of the regular menu. Also - they were actually ripping you off on the prix fixe menu - if you did the math, the choices didn't even add up to the $35. Anyway - we got to the restaurant after work on a Friday and the place was almost empty. In spite of that fact, they sat us directly next to another couple. We didn't have one steady waiter - so it was a new face every time something was brought to the table or an order was taken. My husband ordered the fried calamari and zucchini - it was a soggy, lukewarm mess. I had a potato and porcini mushroom soup - which was also a soggy lukewarm mess, with mealy potatoes. For our entrees my husband had a lasagna on special - which he complained didn't have enough sauce on it. I had the pappardelle - which was lukewarm, had so much cheese in it that I couldn't separate the noodles (needed to use a knife), and just lacked taste. We intended to order dessert, but after sitting there for 40 minutes waiting for a waiter to take our dessert order we decided to just ask for the check instead. What an overpriced and disappointing meal. We will never go back and will never recommend Bice to anyone.

My boyfriend and I went for Restaurant Week and we were seated very quickly. Our waiter was very speedy and we had good choices for our restaurant week menu. The restaurant is very pretty with lots of businessmen there. It was crowded so it was very lous and I was getting annoyed because I didnt want to yell while talking but otherwise, my boyfriend couldnt hear me. The food was great, I had the veal meatballs and there were very good. My boyfriend had the salmon and that was good too. The profiteroles had cream in them which I was not expecting and I prefer the ones without cream inside. Even though the price was supposed to be $35/pp, the bill came out to be $140 or so because each glass of wine was $13, and the sparkiling water was 10. Its good to pick an expensive restaurant for Restaurant Week because otherwise, who can afford $30 entrees, but they get you with the other add-ons!

I visited the sister restaurant (Bice) in Luxembourg and had one of the most amazing meals/dining experiences of my life! I couldn't wait to try the New York restaurant. Perhaps my expectations were too high - but I will only say it was OK, MAYBE I will go so far as to say it was good - but definitely not worth the price. Food was good, but I can get the same meal at a local restaurant for $15-$20. Wait staff was attentive, wine list adequate, comfort level was not good - we were squeezed in!! The bar is cool, though. Bottom line - its a decent meal - can't complain except for lack of value. if you're ever in Luxembourg, try the Bice there.

I have eaten @ Bice 5x's now & everytime I go, I can't help but order the same thing. The Lobster Tagliolini is absolutely amazing!! I have tasted other's dishes as well, & am fully aware that the menu offers many other delicious options... However, if this dish sounds @ all appetizing, I would strongly recommend ordering it! Service is good too, the only "knock" I would give it, is that you have to request oil & vinegar w/ the bread... at nice restaurant, I expect that!

It's all media hype. The food is sub standard for a fine Italian NYC restaurant.The service perfunctory at best. 4 pats of butter for 9 people and when more was requested 2 more were brought out! Never a question as to how the table was doing, what could be brought, made better etc. A glass of Napa Cab at the bar-- $ 17.50. Really. This is a place that exists on the printed word. With all the warm, delicious, and satisfying places in New York, only those who think they should be seen at Bice would ever return again.
