We typically don't eat midtown because we live downtown and have so many good neighborhood spots, but we decided to purchase the $99 livingsocial offer (1 bottle wine, 2 appetizers, 2 pastas and 2 mains) and give it a try. We were quickly seated in the rear part of the restaurant, which was perfectly comfortable and roomy. Our waiter took our wine order (choice of house red or white with the deal), and returned with a very nice bottle of Chianti. After that we waited and waited, and finally flagged down another waiter who took our order. After about 1/2 hr they brought our appetizers which were good (tricolor salad and gravlox). Then we waited about another 45 minutes, with our waiter reassuring us that it will be out in a minute. Finally we just told him to wrap our pasta courses to go, and just serve the main course. We waited some more, and finally our main courses came out, not quite as hot as they should be but warm enough (we were hungry at this point!). My shrimp special was supposed to come with wild rice, but instead was served with overcooked and clumped up quinoa which was very unappealing. The shrimp was fine. My husband did like his red snapper although both dishes could and should have been hotter. After the various mishaps and waits, the maitre d' came over and offered dessert and coffee on the house, which was appropriate and appreciated. Given this is an Italian restaurant, we had high hopes for the tiramisu, but were disappointed. It seemed to be primarily slightly flavored whipped cream. The profiteroles were also nothing special. This place is certainly not worth the menu prices even if service had been good. There are so many better Italian restaurants around, that are much more reasonable as well. If the service had been better, the $99 deal would have been adequate, but compounded with lousy service and food issues, even at that it disappointed.

I called today to make reservations and the female that picked up the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional! Too pricy for the quality of food, the waiter that served us had a language barrier. It was hard to understand what he was saying. I like to sit and enjoy my dinner but instead felt rush. Never again!

Usd to be one of my favorites, but our last 2 visits there have been disappointing. They better turn things around soon.

I love love love this place! Everything about it was perfect. I was there with a colleage from work to have a quick drink after work and I loved it. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed, the hostess is very welcoming and beautiful, if I may so without offense, and the tv is perfect to de-stress and just unwind from a long day. I felt so comfortable that I decided to stay for dinner. I had pasta, and it was very very good! Probably the best pasta I have had since I moved here from Florence. Definitely, the best italian in town.

I went here last week with my best friend and her boyfriend and I must say it was an amazing experience. The waiters were all so nice and attentive. They would come by often to check on us but were not disturbing. Then the food came. I had the Parpadelle al Telefono which was unbelivable. As a precursor I had the insalata gloriosa and I became absolutely obsessed. It is a very classy and stylish restaurant. I would definitely go back.

2nd time there. Service was quick and efficient. The food was very good with reasonable portions. A little pricey but with two good meals we would come in again to enjoy other dishes

There are probably over 100 better Italian places than this in NYC. The service is like night of the zombie dead. The only time we saw our waiter was to keep pouring wine and run up the tab. Breadstick wrappers sat on the table all night, only one person had a bread plate-it just goes on and on. The food is also mediocre, and beware-the lobster tagliolini is NOTHING like they picture on their webpage. Do yourself a favor and save a few hundred bucks and go someplace else.
