    Disappointing

Food was cold and undercooked, service was slow, hands down the worst restaurant I've been to in NYC.

    Amazing every time!

This restaurant is lovely. I went here for my first date with my boyfriend and had an amazing time. I've been back several times since. The atmosphere really sets the mood -- it is very cozy. A candle was placed at every table. Right when we walked in, the owner greeted us and brought us to our table...talk about service! But besides the romantic decor and wonderful service, the food is SO GOOD! I still can't believe how inexpensive the meals are. I recommend the Gnocco Fritto for an appetizer. Their lasagna is to die for...I tried Ravioli with Butter & Sage once (very tasty!) but always go back to the Lasagna. Most entrees are around 9 dollars, and wine is reasonable as well. Just remember to bring cash. Overall, my favorite restaurant to go on a date, before the theater..amazing every time!

    Good value

Nice little place for dinner. The girlfriend and I came here based on menupages reviews, and I was not disappointed. The Gnocco Fritto was very tasty - we both enjoyed it quite a bit. I got the spinach salad, the g/f got the mesclun salad. I was pretty happy with mine, the g/f felt hers was too bitter (I tried it and disagreed). For the entree, I got the ravaoli with butter and sage, and was very pleased. The g/f got the lasagne, and this was also very tasty. The dessert was an 'interpretation' of tiramisu, which was okay, but NOT actually tiramisu. I feel like there should have been more coffee flavor. The plating of the food was excellent and appetizing. The service was absolutely stellar - our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing. One quibble is that the tables are too close together, making me feel a tad claustrophobic, with the waiters leaning over me to attend to other diners and having almost no elbow room. Overall, I felt like this was a terrific value, with fantastic service and a good atmosphere, though I wish there was more space. I would return.

Best low budget in the entire area

Very little to write, besides: outstanding value, great food, fantastic atmosphere (but a bit busy) and nice service. Thanks George for being one of the first in this cool neighborhood and sticking to it.

This is the stuff dreams are made of

We have been going here for years. It is absolutely our favorite restaurant in the city. The food is amazing and reasonably priced, the staff is sweet and attentive, the restaurant is cozy and feels like home. Puff pastries to start, Lasanga, and Flan - best meal ever! You almost don't want it to end. One meal and you will be hooked. This is truely the stuff dreams are made of.

    Sodium Overdose

Everything was way over-salted. Obviously they do not use fresh ingredients because everything tasted like it came out of a can (high sodium content for preservation). Might as well just stay at home and stick a salt water IV up my arm. Service was fantastic, but being comatose after the sodium overload isn't worth a revisit.
