Had a great meal here- the chicken xacuti was amazing- spicy and sublime at the same time. Decent naan, and nice vegetarian options too. And the fact that it's byob is so great. I'll definitely come back here again. Nice ambiance on the quieter side.

Tasty but portions could be bigger

I am an Indian who has eaten Indian food all her life (all over the world...London, Mumbai, New Delhi, etc.) and I can truly say this food is very good. The server was very sweet and the atmosphere was cute. The only down side is that I wish the portions were a bit bigger. That being said it is still a good value in comparison to many other Indian restaurants in the city.

    Great lunch specials!!

The lunch specials at Bhatti are the best! You can select from vegetarian or chicken, and it's all you can eat. Not buffet style, but all you can eat. I agree with the reviewer below that the server does not tell you that it's all you can eat, but as a regular, you just know. Not sure what the fried rice is (Indian restaurants don't serve fried rice :) ) but my lunch special has always been great. They change up their menus so you get a taste of different 'special's. For less than 10bucks, its a good deal.

make sure you know its buffet style no leftovers!

I had only ever gotten take-out prior and the food was always good, so decided to try a sit-in lunch with a colleague. After being seated, server does not provide menus and keeps mentioning the "chicken lunch special." I ask for a menu, she keeps going on about the lunch special and I and my colleague eventually give in without seeing any menus. She DOES NOT mention it is all you can eat and that you cannot take any food home. Long story short, I ate less than half of each dish I was served, and did not ask for any seconds (since I didn't know it was all you can eat). When I tried to take the leftovers home, I was told of their policy. I argue a bit but my server adamantly refuses so I give in. After paying, the server then tries to claim she asked the owner and that he had refused (after my card had been charged and all the food cleared). Essentially, it's all you can eat with service. Just make sure you know this going in. The most disappointing part was, the food wasn't great at all. First dish that comes out is some kind of deep fried cracker (?) with green, white and red sauce all over it. Very sweet and just strange. Next she brings out: a veggie eggplant dish and a chicken dish and some fried rice. These are okay (liked the eggplant) although I did not eat more than a couple bites of any dish. What threw me off the most was that they ranged in temperature, from cold to luke warm. The fried rice was luke warm and had chunks of burnt rice. It appeared as if most of the food had been sitting there for quite a while.

They must have seen the reviews

Had Dinner here yesterday. Portions were more than adequate. We even took home leftovers. It is B.Y.O.B. Food quality was excellent and the price for two appetizers, two entrees, rice, raita, lassi was only 63 bucks with tax.

Wonderful service, Good food, DINNER Priced high.

It's all about what you expect when you pay more and that's what the problem is with Bhatti. I understand LUNCH is the deal in the Curry Hill area of the city so let's say, if I had lunch prices, this place would get 100% excellent reviews. Dinner was good but for two people, paying close to $100 (with NO beverages ordered), it's not a place we can go to often. Nor would we spend $100 for a dinner that should have cost $50. Portions are small - each appetizer is 3-4 pieces. They were DELICIOUS but again, would people want to pay $9 for 3 stuffed mushrooms? The achari tikka was fresh and spiced well. Their entrees were spiced differently so that was a welcome change but again, small portions. Breads were excellent. No rice is offered with main entrees (this is something I will NEVER understand). Indian restaurants should take a cue from Chinese restaurants that ALWAYS give rice to accompany the entree. They did bring complimentary papadum at the beginning of the meal, along with three chutneys. It was fine. Overall our experience was good. The staff was superb - helpful, prompt and efficient. I only wish they could be a bit more generous with their portions. In fact, they could offer each entree as a family style dish, which always works well for Indian cuisine. Let's wait and see. Hope they do something about the portions or the prices. We'll go back for the $10 lunch deal for sure.
