    One of the best

I have been to this place 3 times now. They are very consistent. Amazing food and good service. Their lunch buffet (with a difference!) is a great idea. Most buffets you lose your appetite after seeing so much food around. Here they personally serve you the buffet food, freshly prepared inside. You can pick Veg or Non Veg and you have a choice of dishes you want to pick. Its unlimited too! All for $7.95. We loved it. We plan to go again. Its a must try! The food is spiced just right, tastes awesome as well. I am an Indian and have eaten in all kinds of restaurants. I rate this one as one of the best!

Great food, great prices, great place!

I eat at Bhatti almost every week, or order take out. The portions are priced just right. This is Manhattan..how much more curry and kababs can you get for $12 at a place that actually looks like a restaurant and not subway? The portions are big enough for 2 people! The kababs are super...well cooked, spiced just right and always tender. The curries never fail to impress me. They have some interesting things on the menu that you can't find anywhere else- the shrimp curry, the lamb chops and the galouti kababs, to name a few. Yumm! The restaurant is adorable- Cozy atmosphere, and the BYOB tops it all off! My friends and I love this place!

    I wanted to like it

Being Indian, I was enthusiastic about a new addition to this neighborhood, but I was beyond disappointed. Halfway through our meal, our group started making a list of all the problems (but I'll limit myself here). For me, the worst offense was that there was too much turmeric in almost everything (we had four appetizers and three entrees). I know it's good for you, but when that's all I can taste, something is very wrong. The curries were all garnished with fresh ginger. While this might be appreciated by some, it's an overly pungent garnish for the unsuspecting. Please warn us or just stick with coriander. The service was unpleasant. The waitress brought us one appetizer at a time (for a group of four) and didn't bring the next dish until we completely finished the prior one. Then, she asked us if we wanted all our entrees at the same time. We said yes, but I was very curious about what she would've done if we'd said no. Our waitress also had the unseemly habit of reaching over all of us, and she repeatedly brushed up against a male guest, which he found more than disconcerting. And, when she wasn't annoying us, she was ignoring us. I don't normally expect much in terms of service in Indian restaurants, but this was exceptionally unpleasant service. Perhaps the problem was exacerbated by the fact that the tables were way too close to each other. We could not get in and out of the far seats without moving the tables. I'm not sure why they needed so many tables, since at 12:30 on a Sunday, we were the only people in there. I suspect that we're the last Indian people to find out that this place is not worth it.

    Portions portions portions!

Liked the kababs but the quality has gone down since my first vist last month and the portions still remain woefully small.

    Excellent

The chef and his team make excellent kebobs, they should had as appetizers and not as main courses. The main courses and breads are equally good. They have some kinks to work out, but their kitchen is turning out excellent food.

    Pathetic Service, Pricey...worth avoiding

Within minutes of being there me and my wife started getting annoyed at this restaurant. We had heard a lot about it from our Indian friends and decided to go there on a week night. The table arrangement is so 'over engineered' that we were waiting for quite some time before we were placed. They serve French portions and charge a high price. We ordered for "Bhuna Kebab" which in the menu said comes with boneless pieces of kebab. We even discussed this dish with the waiter. However, when we were served, this dish was all bones and no meat...disappointing. We were wondering why the waiter could not say this or point out the error in the menu, when we ordered...grrrr...They still haven't fixed the error in their menu...Further, it is probably easy to get Pope's attention than that of a waiter at Bhatti....they would look all sides but yours...kinda wonderful...To end it all they don't accept AMEX cards...can they write this somewhere and put a sign outside to inform customers. Sometimes you only carry one card and it can be very embarrassing while you are fidgeting to search for other mode of payments...Genuinely, I have eaten at plenty of Indian restaurants and I fee this is one is one of the worst. Avoid if possible...
