    good food..rude service

Good swordfish , no problems with the extra bread (no butter or olive oil ?). However, the waitress ASKED for her tip when I did not place it on the credit card receipt. It is not common practice to leave the money on the table? Overall a decent restaurant with rude servers

    Veggie Platter from Heaven

I adore Beyoglu...disclaimer though, my review is based on one dish, which I order every time I go -which is frequently...the Veggie Platter, for $14.95, is delicious, healthy and big enough to feed two people (girls) nicely. The featured mix of cold veggie mezzes is tasty, and a feast for the eyes as well...and takes only a few minutes to come out of the kitchen. Yes, you do have to beg for the bread, but it's always doughy and delightful and a perfect accompaniment to the platter and they don't charge extra for more breads. To speak to the previous reviewers remarks about being a regular and the manager not caring- I'm not surprised to hear that...for awhile I was at Beyoglu a few times a week; and granted we usually only ordered the veggie platter and a drink each, but I would have appreciated any kind of acknowledgement that the manager even recognized me...whatever, I still love the place. (And, the waiters are nice).

    what's with the bread thing?

i don't get it. What kind of Mediterranean restaurant makes you beg for bread? How does one eat a plate of hummus with one piece of bread? And the noise!! I walked out hoarse. I don't get it - why do people put up with this?

Long time customer never going back

I love the food and have been going to Beyoglu since they opened (and went to their predecesor Ci Vediamo). I have celebrated birthdays and celebrations there for years, and was dismayed to find out last night they are now charging $20 if you bring your own cake. What is even more upsetting is the manager DID NOT CARE that we were long time patrons and when i told him would no long come back, he still DID NOT CARE. I suspect if the owner (who I know) knew about this, he would be mortified. Is business that good these days that they can afford to lose long time customers...?!?!?! I certainly don't need to waste my hard earned money on a restaurant that doesn't care about about me!

great food stingy on the bread

The food is delicious and consistent. Love their hummus and greek salad. Vege platter and grape leaves are also yummy. The only real problem is they ration out the bread like it is gold! Table of 2 and table of 8 both only get one plate of bread. You have to ask ten times for more bread before they will actually bring it to the table. Its almost comical but definitely frustrating.

    Fabulous!

Beyoglu is my favorite restaurant on the UES. It is delicious and reasonably priced. We love to get the hummus and the Iskander Kabob as our main course. Atmosphere is good, not great. Service is fine, but you go here for the food. Absolutely recommend it!

    5 Entrees / 6 Appetizers = 1 Bread

Ordered in with 5 friends and spent over $150 and when we came to pick up the food, they mentioned that it is their policy to give 1 piece of bread per order. We asked to talk to manager and they said it was their policy, no exceptions. I wanted to leave without the food, but my wife really likes the food and we were hungry. We ended up paying for 4 more pieces because who eats 2 hummus, 2 salads and 5 people with 1 bread. If it is up to me, we will never order from them again or go there. The food is good, but not worth the attitude and just genuine lack of service. We are Turkish and this is not how a Turkish restaurant treats its customers.
