Great food and great outdoor seating

We loved this place! Ordered a large selection of appetizers to share and enjoyed them all. They were served with the most wondeful warm bread. Main courses were also great. The place has a nice atmosphere with plenty of outdoor tables on both streets.

    What is the big deal?

It is probably crowded, b/c for the UES it is reasonably priced, but why bother when the food is nothing from nothing. The service was OK. If you want a decent portion and are not worried so much about taste Beyoglu is for you.

It used to be great. Not any more.

This used to be one of my favorite places, but since a new owner bought this place last year, it's gone downhill Food is often so salty, and nothing is consistent. I will no go there any more.

    One of our faves

We've been going to this restaurant for years. I bring all my friends from out of town here and they always want to come back. For my money, I always get the Turkish white wine, the vegetarian platter, and the swordfish to split with someone else. The other entrees are great, too, but that one meal leaves me satiated without making me too full. They give you as much bread as you want (but leave room for dinner!) and the staff is very helpful. Very cool decor, too, upstairs and down. One of the best restaurants on the UES.

    Will come back!

Overall a very enjoyable experience. The waitstaff was helpful and courteous, very attentive to our table despite a busy hour. The food was wonderfull, with some very innovative appetizers and hearty middle eastern entrees. I cant wait till spring when they open the patio again!

    Delicious but not the specials

My friend and I had dinner here this past Wednesday and for me it was a second time. For dinner we had their special appetizer, which were fishcakes, and their special entree, an eggplant stuffed with minced meat. While the specials were good, I would not get them a second time. There is nothing special about the presentation of the food and honestly it was not worth its price. However, because I've eaten there previously I know that they have very good appetizers and entrees on the regular menu. Also, if you are planning to have dinner here, I would suggest you call and make a reservation because the place is very popular with the locals.

    On the east side Bosphorus

Friendly helpful staff who try to please. Kitchen gets a little hectic but it produces superb food. It isn't fancy but it is a great sampling of Turkish cuisine. Go with a big selection of appetizers The entrees are good too. Wonderful atmosphere, especially in summer when the sides are open. Tables are cramped and small, often not big enough to hold the variety of plates and glasses that they bring out.
