I live in the area and am surprised at the bad/lukewarm reviews. We've been several times and think it's pretty good. It's not Daniel, but it's not supposed to be. It's a solid, reliable Mediterranean restaurant that's not expensive. The fact that there is inevitably a line to get a table says a lot for Beyoglu's quality.

This is the third time that I have eaten here with a group and every time everyone was totally satisified. Plenty of choices, including daily specials, so everyone could pick their favorites. The vegetarian platter works great as an appetizer for a group. Can't wait to return.

I don't know what the other people are talking about in some of these reviews. I've been to Beyoglu dozens of times and the food is always good, the service is always with a smile, and the value can't be beaten. This place has a line out the door every night of the week and that isn't because people have "low expectations" on the Upper East Side. Are you kidding? It's crowded because it's GOOD!

There is a great vegetarian sampler good for a light meal. The fish was decent, and other "mezzes" pretty good. But the service is really lousy. They do you a big favor by taking your order which may come correctly or not, then you are ignored until they want your table for someone else. I've been there three times due to their location but won't go again.

I have visited Turkey, and Beyoglu represents its namesake very well. The mezes are fantastic, and the wines that they pair with the meals are spot on. There are a number of excellent restaurants on the Upper East Side, and Beyoglu is among the best for value in a casual setting. Turkish dishes certainly has similarities to Mediterranean food, so if you are concerned about the differences being too great to enjoy, don't worry -- you won't be disappointed! I truly wish that they delivered...

Service and hospitality is below par at best. There are much better alternatives and with authentic Turkish fare. Other reviews are on the money. Location and the low expectations are the only reasons that this place is still in business.

This is a wonderful restaurant. The hummus is amazing, as is the octopus. If you go, order lots of tapas for your meal. It gets crowded, but with inside, upstairs and outside seating, you shouldn't have to wait long. One of my favotires.
