It's such a shame that such a delicious and cozy restaurant has to have such poor service. I've been to Beyoglu several times and only ONCE was I moderately pleased with the service. All other times I've been there the waiters have taken an incredibly long time to greet us and ask us for a drink, let alone take our orders. In many ways, ordering food and getting what you want at Beyoglu feels like pulling the teeth of the waiters. The last two times the waiter approached the table as though it was painful to even speak to us, let alone be our "server." We are very kind, very nice tippers, and yet the treatment we receive at Beyoglu is flat-out subpar. Waiting for an equally delicious Mediterranean restaurant to open in the East 80s ...

Great food, decent service, I would reccomend going for dinner. Not a big enough lunch selection. But overall was a very food meal.

Beware the take-out policy! If you get one order of hummus, they give you one delicious hot bread. If you get TWO orders of hummus, you still only get one bread. If you want two breads, they charge $1.50 for the "extra bread." That policy rubs me the wrong way.

If it wasn't for the pretentious European hostesses the place would be close to perfect. Try the hummus.

I'd recommend Beyoglu to a smaller party looking for a decent mediterranean meal at a good price. The entrees are sizeable, flavorful, and reasonably priced. I'd recommend the hummus and octopus appetizers - which are only approx $5 each and very filling. Our experience with the service was favorable too. Overall, for a lower-end mediterranean restaurant, this place is great.

I have been here twice and am happy with the food, the variety and the cost. However, the service is a bit rude, beginning with the person at the front desk. When told "5-8" minutes for a table for two we waited close to 30 minutes. There were tables for four open that they would not seat us at but gave to parties of three coming in after us (without reservations). When we asked about our progress one time, the women, who avoided eye contact at all cost, was contradictory and not at all gracious. We were then almost immediately seated in an upstairs room that was pleasnat and had plenty of open seats. An honest evaluation of the expected time would give customers the opportunity to make a choice of whether or not to wait. The experience left a bad taste and I doubt I will return.

I live in the area and am surprised at the bad/lukewarm reviews. We've been several times and think it's pretty good. It's not Daniel, but it's not supposed to be. It's a solid, reliable Mediterranean restaurant that's not expensive. The fact that there is inevitably a line to get a table says a lot for Beyoglu's quality.
