So I am not the only one to think good food alone won't make a restaurant. I think Beyoglu survives despite the poor service not just by waiters also the management; they are very rude. If their location was not supurb (surrounded by Upper East siders who don't like to cook) they would be out of business by now. I have been boycotting them for a long time and using the word-of-mouth to change their attitude to no avail.

Moved my daughter into an apartment in the 90s, had to wait hours for the movers to get around the PRDay parade. We were tired and hungry and used the streetwalker's zagat formula and went here because it was the only crowded restaurant. Had great salads and chicken and shrimp, attentive service, sat outside where we wanted. Baclava to die for and the check came to 2/3 of what we pay in Philly for not as good a place. Will go back again soon.

After reading many of the reviews about this restaurant, we decided there were enough good reasons to give this place a chance. We were all glad we did. The service was perfect! The food was delicious (and yes...try the hummus and the "pita" bread). My one piece of advice for anyone going here might be to try and go early before they get busy. We went at 6:30 on a Saturday night (and made reservations). My one piece of advice for the restaurant might be to add about 4 inches to each side of the table so that when plates accumulate it isn't quite so crowded.

Great food at reasonable price. However, they dont seem to be friendly to families so if you have kids, dont go there. No strollers are allowed inside the place and they are not happy to accomodate you at all....you get the ugly looks even if your child is in his/her best behavior! I would say that the service is poor and that is a shame because the food is actually great.

Beyoglu has become "our kitchen" since we live in the neighborhood and can pop in a few times a week to share their small delicious plates --- hummos, shepard's salad, sardines, spinach. The grilled chicken and fish is excellent. We are never disappointed by either the food or the service, which may not be overly friendly but it is professional ---they get the job done.

I love the food here, but find it noisy and drafty - hard to hear our conversations. Also, very cold and impersonal service.

A firiend of my girlfriend's recommended this place to us. What a great place for a reasonable dinner. The Turkish food was delicious but the service was a bit slow.
