Tasty but there are better places with better service
This is a tasty "Turkish" restaurant. However, there are other options for "Turkish"/ tapas type food in the city which are equally scrumptious with far better service. The prices are on the higher side but portions are quite big. But the service is careless and indifferent. You wonder why they continue with poor service since it undoubtedly would affect tips - but maybe they don't care!

Amazing Food, Great Wine, Great Decor!
I've been going here for a few years, and enjoy the food more and more every visit. Best hummus in the city (and I'm a hummus connoisseur), goes great with the fresh/hot bread and pairs perfectly with the Patlican Domates Soslu (lightly pan-fried cubes of eggplant). Everyone I've brought here leaves wanting more - and i've introduced a lot of people to this restaurant. The first level of the restaurant is designed to make you feel like you've left the city and are taking in the real Turkish experience. Upstairs is still great, but more fancy (table cloths). The Turkish wine assortment is great and reasonably priced and goes great with all of the meze dishes. I often order too many meze's and don't leave room for the main meals, but those are always cooked to perfection when ordered. I'm not sure what all the negative comments are for - the staff has always been more than accomodating to my parties, large or small.

Oh, That Vegetarian Platter!
OK, agreed - that vegetarian sampler for 14 bucks is fabulous. Food is superb. Management and waitstaff seem very uptight about tips - isn't 20 percent enough? - and are almost rude, but then the people in this privileged zip code are some of the morst entitled narcissists in the world. It can't be easy serving them...then again, why tip more than 20% if all you get is scowls?

great food -- unpleasant service throughout
such a shame.....the food here is great and totally reasonably priced. however, the service is not. nobody seems to know what is going on.......hostess, servers, and even the manager. so sorry to see this in one of my favorite spots.

good food..rude service
Good swordfish , no problems with the extra bread (no butter or olive oil ?). However, the waitress ASKED for her tip when I did not place it on the credit card receipt. It is not common practice to leave the money on the table? Overall a decent restaurant with rude servers

Veggie Platter from Heaven
I adore Beyoglu...disclaimer though, my review is based on one dish, which I order every time I go -which is frequently...the Veggie Platter, for $14.95, is delicious, healthy and big enough to feed two people (girls) nicely. The featured mix of cold veggie mezzes is tasty, and a feast for the eyes as well...and takes only a few minutes to come out of the kitchen. Yes, you do have to beg for the bread, but it's always doughy and delightful and a perfect accompaniment to the platter and they don't charge extra for more breads. To speak to the previous reviewers remarks about being a regular and the manager not caring- I'm not surprised to hear that...for awhile I was at Beyoglu a few times a week; and granted we usually only ordered the veggie platter and a drink each, but I would have appreciated any kind of acknowledgement that the manager even recognized me...whatever, I still love the place. (And, the waiters are nice).

what's with the bread thing?
i don't get it. What kind of Mediterranean restaurant makes you beg for bread? How does one eat a plate of hummus with one piece of bread? And the noise!! I walked out hoarse. I don't get it - why do people put up with this?
