    love Bevacco

It is our favorite Brooklyn Heights restaurant . The food, service, and environment are excellent . The owner is very accomodating to groups of 6-8 . But this does not affect the other diners , the noise level is never bad. I am a vegetarian and very pleased that I am not regulated to just having pasta. The small side veg dishes are superb and the ricotta is one of my favorites . If I do like a pasta special, they always will change to fit my diet. The owner is from Venice where I have been many times . The dishes do remind me of the city. My husband is not veg and loves the chicken, duck and excellent fish dishes. The by the glass wine selection is excellent as well . FYI we prefer here then eating across the river!

    Never open

This establishment is literally closed for a private event every weekend, not sure why they even bother advertising weekend brunch hours.

I am afraid that despite the wonderful retro interior the food and service was a huge disappointment. The service was painfully slow, the wine we ordered never arrived and the food when it did arrive was poor and very overpriced. there are many other better and less expensive restaurants in the Heights.

Having lived in Brooklyn heights for about 4 yrs, I get excited about new restaurants, so when Bevacco opened up, I embraced this place as my new favorite. Food and service left much to be desired, however the atmosphere of the place reminded me of cafes in Rome, and so I looked past its shortenings. Last night though, I fear, was the last time I stepped foot in this place. My boyfriend got home late at night and was hungry. We decided to see if bevacco was still open for food. The website said the place is open till midnight. We decided to double check and called. The woman on the phone said that the kitchen closes at 12. Great, my bf said, you have two people walking there right now and we will be there in 5 min. We came in, sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender's, I already called last call. Not the beat way to greet clients, but whatever. I explained that we just called and were told that the kitchen is open till 12. We were there at 1138. The bartender went to double check, and then came back and dropped off the menus. Both my bf and I work in the service industry and have been bartenders/managers/servers for years. Both of us were confused about the situation. We quickly ordered our wine and food. A burger, rare, with French fries, for my bf. A little dessert for me. Two glasses of wine. The question that my companion had about wine went unanswered. No big deal. I am keen on having a good time and try to keep my boy happy. About 5 minutes later, the food arrives. Along with the food, the bartender drops off the check. Can u close out, he says, so people can get out of here. No napkins. No water. No silverwear. My friend's ff never arrive. His burger is a reheated piece of meat, and by no means it is rare. It has been cooked before, to medium well/well done, reheated and served to us. Now, I understand if I get this quality of food and service at a diner. But I am paying 60$ for a burger, dessert and 2 wines. The entire time the bartender behaves as if we are a huge inconvenience and a burden, and we are very much encouraged to finish up asap. My friend wispers to me, I am never coming back here again, never. And we both feel foolish and helpless. Only later, at home, it occurs to me that we should have said something. Or sent the food back. Or asked for a manager. Instead, we paid the tab, left a tip ( a very rare case when I left less then my normal 20-25%) and went home, feeling completely ripped off and disrespected.

    Delightful!

Brought my family to Bevacco and was completely delighted, the calamari was crisp with a hit of citrus flavor that delighted the entire table. The rack of lamb was perfection. My son enjoyed his eggplant lasagna. The manager and server made our visit a delight And we all look forward to our next meal at this innovative very comfortable establishment. You will feel like family!
