Overrated
The pizzas....ok. It's thin-crusted here, somewhat flavorful from that oven they use....but definitely nothing to write home about. The other dishes fall in that rustic Italian vein. Maybe I'm just not ordering what my neighbors are ordering, but with some many great Italian places in the same price range in the city, I'd go elsewhere. Summary: As a neighborhood restaurant, it's solid. I'd never go out of my way to eat a dinner there though.

Great!
I've discovered Bettola couple of weeks ago. I have been back twice since. I love the place. I'll be back every time I come for a business to NYC. I loved the coconut soup with mushrooms and peppers and everything else. Thank you!

Best Upscale Pizza
I was visiting & had a date here with an italian who claims this is quite authentic. I can not tell you if it was pricy as I did not pay. The pizza was excellent. It was exquistite with truffel oils etc... Wonderful atmosphere.

I love bettola
I am an Italian living on UWS. I have to say that this is the best UWS Italian restaurant, the food is excellent. You can get a good coffee and it is not overpriced, trust me I know what a good coffee and food is. The pizza is as good as I can get when I am back in Italy. The food is very authentic.

A Favorite
Consistently good preparations, great pizzas, well rounded menu & good wines by the glass (when they don't run out)... service is attentive - always leave satisfied and relaxed. A bit loud inside but definitely a neighborhood favorite.

Overpriced soup and coffee
I have been to the place a few times by now. The food is great and the service is quite attentive but the desserts are not so good, a bit expensive and the espresso coffee could be better for $3.00 a cup. They use Segafredo coffee. The cheapest coffee in the market.

Good food, cozy unpretentious atmosphere
The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, and the light from the brick oven adds a warm glow to the dining room. It's the kind of place where you can get a nice meal without feeling the need to get too dressed up. I had the cornish game hen cooked under a brick. The skin was beautifully crisp, while the meat remained moist, and nicely flavored with rosemary. My partner had the gnocci, which she said had a nice, light sauce that had a distinct basil flavor. All of the pizzas we saw ordered around us looked and smelled really good. If we weren't so full, we would have ordered one of those too!
