I ordered their Soon Doo Boo for delivery. Their only choice was Sea Food, so I asked for Beef to be added. $3 extra. Kimchi and egg were also extras, while other places (like Cafe Hanover or Cafe Water) would give them for free. I asked it to be extra spicy. I ended up with $12.45 + tax total. The soup itself had flavor, but not great. I could taste and smell the seafood in it, but there was barely any in there. Just one tiny shrimp and one shriveled mussel. I was glad I ordered the extra beef, otherwise I would have been even more disappointed. The tofu tasted old. Even with the extra-spicy order, I barely got any heat. The kimchi was unapperizing too. Old and no heat. I had to through that one out. This place is definitely off my delivery list. For better Soon, go get them from Cafe Hanover or Cafe Water (same owner, I believe).

I'm Korean born and raised in Korea,so it's very hard for me to find decent Korean restaurants that do not use MSG in manhattan. Recently I moved to downtown and I have found there are few places I can get delivery for Korean foods, which I was excited about. And i picked soma by nature as the first try. What I got was tuna/ salmon sushi rolls, tofu kimchi and soondooboo jjigae. First of all, tofu kimchi is quite decent.cant give conpliment but can't really complain either. I don't mind eating this again. 2nd of all, sushi rolls..it's hard to say. Since its not a real sushi place, I didn't expect much for sushi anyway,it was more like 'little-tasteless-but -I-can-eat-roll'. Finally the soondooboo jjigae? Oh no.. By far, this is the worst soondooboo jjigae I've ever tried in my life.. Correction. It's not a soondooboo jjigae, in fact i could not identify the food. I don't know how long ago the jjigae was cooked.. but one thing for sure, it was not freshly cooked, the tofu is supposed to silky, chunky and nice creamy color for this type of jjigae, but this one.. it's all crumbled in almost light brown color. apparently it looked like leftover ones from all the previous orders were combined into one container. And there was imitation crab meat in it, which i never expected! How creative! And again this crab meat color was brown, so I couldn't even tell what it was at first. Taste? Not good. I am pretty sure it was sitting in the kitchen for all day, and over boiled. All I could taste was saltiness with hit of spice. I was'this' close to call and return but we were waiting for the delivery for 1hour! So didn bother to.. As I'm Korean, I really really want to support any Korean restaurants in the city but unfortunately soma by nature disappointed me a big time.. Sorry.

I try to stay away from perfect reviews, it's almost always to good to be true, right? Don't let my enthusiasm fool you! :) is the food Zesty? Check! is it Cheap? Check! is it healthy? Check! is the service great? Check! I have discovered myself many favorites there and have 'converted' more than 10 friends and co-workers already. With seemless web on my iphone all my favorite dishes are one finger tap away from being delivered to me :) This is simply awesome!

I live downtown and have literally ordered from EVERY sushi place, since I went to soma for sushi-it is the freshest and very decent price. I literally cant eat sushi if it has the slightest fish flavor-this is why I love soma-its fresh and has never happened. I get sushi and ricecake soup 2-3 times a week, the bibimbap looks pretty good-although havent tried yet.

I just love love love this restaurant. The sushi is made fresh and prepared in front of you; while their are pre-prepared rolls for your picking if you are in a rush. The people here are efficient, clean, neat, and polite. I recommend the mandoo (korean dumplings in pork or vegetable) and the bibimbap. Everything is just so delicious and so underpriced! I try to come here for lunch at least once a week.
