    Worse 50$ ever spent!

We were on visit from Montreal and expected a good meal.... We were really hungry and we didn't eat half our plates. The service was horrible like these people couldn't help us at all, we seemed to be disturbing them! The food was tasteless and dry. Also the washrooms were dirty and smelly. These people take the customers for granted. It's the only restaurant review I ever wrote but the experience was so bad it had to be told!

Stick to the basics and you can't go wrong

Pastrami, corned beef -- you know the drill. You know what? Give me Ben's over Katz's. Complimentary pickles and cole slaw are a big plus. Surprisingly very good french fries.

    Poor service

The food isn't what it use to be. But the wait service is friendly and attentive. My problem with Ben's happened just yesterday. I gave the cashier a $50 bill for a $15 lunch. She mistook the fifty for a twenty and gave me a five dollar change. Okay that can happen (she did need a calculator to figure out 50-15=35!!). But when she gave me the wrong change she had closedthe register. She asked the manager who was standing next to her to open the door. He ignored her and me. And when he finally got around to opening the draw there was no apology from this guy. I don't like being ignored. It's not that great an experience to go back there again.back.

    We love it.

When we go in for a show we always go here. The best pastrami on rye. Love the horseradish sauce ( white one). Awesome pickles and coleslaw.

    Not recommended

The food was ice cold...the marzoh ball soup tasted like dishwater...the mushroom barley soup a mixture of cement and water...stuffing? a square piece of dried out something not stuffing....the turkey dried out..and the baked potato was black inside and out..microwaved to death...the turkey leg smelled like it was not refrigerated since last thanksgiving...after many attempts leaving messages for owner to call back to share this experience with him needless to say...never heard from him...never again......shame on you Bens ...

    The best tongue in town

My nephew came in from Arizona and he asked me to find a kosher deli in Manhattan. I picked the right one. I had the tongue platter with stuffed derma which was fabulous. I am going there tomorrow to meet my friends. They are talking about pastrami. I am sure it will be great.
