Fine for the Neighborhood
I go here with my cousins, and it is just fine for our needs. Meeting up, swapping tales, and stuffing the gut.We tend to stay with the basics:Pastrami,Corned Beef, pickles, fries, Celray or Cream soda...maybe dessert. We tend to stop by after the lunch rush, and get quite good service. And always fine for a grab and go, back to the office or home<I live in West Chelsea>, always something to pick from!

Average, but worth a shot
Another reviewer said it was "so average" as to skip. Yes it is "so average" but I wouldn't rule it out 100% if you're simply craving a hot pastrami sandwich or potato pancakes etc. It is no Katz in LES, but the food is simple, edible, homely, and dare I say...decent. Not really worth it to GO OUT OF YOUR WAY (that's what Katz pastrami is there for), but if you're within walking distance and crave this food, then why not.

For "Fooder"
anyone putting mayo on their corned beef shouldn't be writing reviews...that's just not kosher

we love this place
okay, not be the best service, but the food and ambiance of this place are amazing. the corned beef is knock your socks off! the chicken soup too. great cole slaw and pickles, free when you eat in. and there are so many great and spacious tables when you eat in. nothing like it in NYC.

Steer Clear
I have worked in the neighborhood for years and never had it until today. Now I know why. Delivery was prompt. Home-pickled corned beef was very average. They forgot to put mayo on sandwich as requested. Chicken gumbo was basically vegetable with rice. The chicken was barely present. It was so average I'm bummed.

Great pickles and coleslaw!
The matzo ball soup is mediocre, but it's a fun lunch place nonetheless.

Great delivery, great food
Tried delivery to my midtown office today. Great corned beef, excellent pastrami, nice fries, killer pickles, and the "extra" touches were fantastic (the sodas were ice cold, they sent both mustard and Russian dressing for the sandwiches, lots of ketchup and napkins etc.) For what we got and the speed with which we got it the price was very reasonable too.
