The food was ice cold...the marzoh ball soup tasted like dishwater...the mushroom barley soup a mixture of cement and water...stuffing? a square piece of dried out something not stuffing....the turkey dried out..and the baked potato was black inside and out..microwaved to death...the turkey leg smelled like it was not refrigerated since last thanksgiving...after many attempts leaving messages for owner to call back to share this experience with him needless to say...never heard from him...never again......shame on you Bens ...

    The best tongue in town

My nephew came in from Arizona and he asked me to find a kosher deli in Manhattan. I picked the right one. I had the tongue platter with stuffed derma which was fabulous. I am going there tomorrow to meet my friends. They are talking about pastrami. I am sure it will be great.

Great menu...seemed very authentic; that's where it ends."freshly squeezed" orange juice was far from the truth. waitress admitted it was likely fresh and squeezed at some point, but not on their premesis.broccoli was frozen. ordered the smoked salmon plate(referred to as the "filet-mignon of salmon" on the menu. was dry, fatty, ends of nova slamon - inedible.ate pickles for lunch - was hard to screw that up. will never be back.

    Fine for the Neighborhood

I go here with my cousins, and it is just fine for our needs. Meeting up, swapping tales, and stuffing the gut.We tend to stay with the basics:Pastrami,Corned Beef, pickles, fries, Celray or Cream soda...maybe dessert. We tend to stop by after the lunch rush, and get quite good service. And always fine for a grab and go, back to the office or home<I live in West Chelsea>, always something to pick from!

    Average, but worth a shot

Another reviewer said it was "so average" as to skip. Yes it is "so average" but I wouldn't rule it out 100% if you're simply craving a hot pastrami sandwich or potato pancakes etc. It is no Katz in LES, but the food is simple, edible, homely, and dare I say...decent. Not really worth it to GO OUT OF YOUR WAY (that's what Katz pastrami is there for), but if you're within walking distance and crave this food, then why not.

    For "Fooder"

anyone putting mayo on their corned beef shouldn't be writing reviews...that's just not kosher
