Benny's Burritos

I have to agree with the last review of Benny's -- I too, am a Californian and have not found any so-called "mexican" restaurant in NYC worthy AT ALL. Since I am from San Francisco, and Benny's touts itself as San Francisco style, I decided to give it a try. It's definitely one of the better Mexican cuisine I've had in New York and I dream about their Chicken Mole Ole.

I am from California and New York does not have anything that touches good Mexican food. It's a sad fate. Nonetheless, Benny's had good food. Not good "Mexican" food, but food that was good in it's own right, albeit not Mexican (by my heightened California standards, of course). I'd say that for New York, Benny's is about as good as it gets. The price was appropriate and the atmosphere was above par. In fact, despite my intial revulsion at the New York's version of Mexican food, I found myself thinking, "I could eat here again. This is good." And that's saying something.

Well going to the dog park I always passed Benny?s. It looked very nice inside so I took a takeout menu. Tonight was the first time ordering and it went beyond my expectations. The prices seemed steep on the menu but upon receiving my burrito I could only eat half of it. The food was great and the price defiantly fits the meal. The price fits the portions. I think I have a new favorite takeout. It's the meal.

The freshest guacamole around. Large portions, delicious food. Drinks excellent. Highly recommend. Their take out service is very organized, well done. Offer many vegetarian and vegan options on menu.

I'm visiting from Cincinnati....and was glad I picked Benny's. I was starving after several hours of layover at the airport...and finally decided to get Benny's for delivery. Very prompt delivery as well as great food. Will try again. Thanks.

I live in the neighborhood and while I would never take my Mexican grandma here, I go all the time w/ my white (even Texan) friends. We all agree the food is good for NYC- I have yet to find a bargain or authentic tex-mex here, but the prices are good, the nachos are tasty and the drinks are great. I especially love the mexican cola here (coke, lime juice and tequila) and the rum puck is also good.

This place is way better than the first review says, especially since its th eonly good burrito place in the delivery area. besides this the portions are big and the guac is good.
