I've been a patron of BB since I moved to GV in 1991 and with a broken heart I've been observing a slow decline in food quality over the past year or so.. Once a great, cheap GV spot is going down hill. I used to get take outs 2-3 times a week , not anymore. Those who have been eating there for a long time know the difference. The owner, most likely to save money, started adding a new awfully tasting , overpowering powder spice to everything: chicken beans, particularly black beans, rice and guacamole. It made everything taste pungently over spiced . The subtle flavor of simmered chili peppers mixed with tasty beans is gone. It's as if someone dumped half of powdered chili peppers into them. They did the same with guacamole. This nasty spice is everywhere and gives you an upset stomach and heartburn. Next they ditched their tasty fresh salsa cruda and replaced it with cheap ready-made roasted peppers with vinegary flavor!. Pulled chicken has been long-gone from the menu (first thing to go). I had to ditch the entire order for 2 plp to the garbage and complain. Nothing has changed for a long time. Recently guacamole and pinto beans became more eatable gain but I stay away from my once favorite chicken salad with black beans. Hope someone from the management will read this and bring back the old BB :)

So I moved here from Florida where Mexican and Cuban is prime time food. I have been searching the city trying every Mexican place I could find, and almost everyone has failed. But this place took me by surprise. The tortillas were actually nice and moist, the beans creamy and not crusty, unlike some of the other places I went to, and the delivery dude was super quick and really nice. Yep, that's Benny's!

Horrible delivery service. good delivery time though, and decent food moderately expensive for what it is.

I was originally looking for Blockheads and came across this location. It was very packed outside and inside but worth the wait. They should make the place bigger especially with the crowd they received. The waiter was very nice and checked on us periodically. The drinks were great and affordable. Enjoyed the burrito even though I had to use a fork and knife.

My friends and I have not been here in awhile. This past Saturday, the waiter told us they no longer offer the queso because the owners didn't like it. Well we, the patrons, do! BRING IT BACK!

Sticky, steamed flour tortilla used for the Super Chicken Burrito. I couldn't pick up the burrito off the plate; I tried. Knife and fork burrito is blasphemy to me. Flavor-wise, it was decent, but runs heavy. Burrito was huge; for $12 it should be. $3 margarita was a steal. Servers were friendly.
