My business partner got into Benjamin's when they were still a couple of weeks away from the formal opening. We had a wonderful experience there and I have eaten there numerous times since. mention has already been made of the former Luger's chef - the food is truly top quality. But the owner and his staff are just great people, real people, no b.s. at all and very genuinely warm. It shows in the atmosphere, the service, and the wonderful overall experience. A little more in the way of veggie dishes (I know, i know, it's a steakhouse - but I have a vegan on my Board and I want to eat there more frequently!) would be great and possibly diversify the crowd they draw. I wish the restaurant all good luck.

We were pleased to find a quality steakhouse in the city that matched some of the best ones out there. The Steak was great. Good service and a great wine list. The location is a definite advantage for those close to the city. The prices are reasonable. Overall, great experience.

Why take the trip over the bridge when you can have the best steak in the city? I love this spot and am thrilled to have a Luger chef open a space so close to my office and near grand central! Great bar scene with lots of men, too. The porterhouse was divine. Definitely check it out before word gets out and ressy's will be impossible to get.

Well lets see when I came across the restaurant online I thought to myself how familiar, I wonder if its a mini steakhouse of another perhaps larger one. Anyway, I was totally unsatisfied, they simply fall short of other great steakhouses in the city. My recommendations is to choose the one your more familiar with. Benjamin's is trying to hard, and not meeting any expectations.

While walking by me and my husband decided to try Benjamin Steakhouse. we hoped that the food would be as excellent as the place itself. TO our amazement, our experience was great. THe steak was excellent and i absolutely loved their desserts with their own homemade shlag. It was quite the experience and the fireplace in the center provided such a romantic tone for us. Anyone and everyone will love this place.

Saw this place had just opened by Grand Central near my office and some of my colleagues and decided to try it out. This was the BEST steak I have had in NYC in years and I am a tough steak critic. We ordered the porterhouse and it was very tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. We didn't even need a knife to cut it. Portions were generous. I recommend the hash browns and creamed spinach. After dinner we found out the chef was Peter Luger's chef for 20 years. To be honest, I found the porterhouse even better than Lugers with a better atmosphere, more convenient location and great service. They also offer more seafood entrees than most Manhattan steakhouses which my colleague ordered. I definitely recommend Benjamins and will definitely be making this a regular visit.
