Kitchen and Front End Need Attention

Second visit to the Benjamin; very much enjoyed my first and was looking forward to a repeat. Sat upstairs which is less crowded and easier to carry on conversation at the table. Food quality is good; had a beautiful tuna steak; asked for it blackened. Came perfectly cooked but almost no spice on it other than a tremendous amount of salt. Vegetables overcooked and salty as well. Service was attentive but not at all friendly or upbeat. If I am paying $250 for dinner for three, it would be nice to have a smile from the waitstaff every once in a while. Management needs to have a full kitchen and staff meeting. they can do much better.

    Best Steakhouse in Manhattan

I've been going to steakhouses all over the city, including Peter Luger's for many years now. I started going to Benjamins on a friend's recommendation three months after they opened. I can say I’ve never been disappointed; their meat quality and aging are excellent. I would put them on par with Peter Luger, plus they accept credit cards.

    Splendid Experience

We had steak for 4, creamed spinach, wedge salads and onion rings. The steaks were amazing, although way too much food. You really need just “3” for party of 4. You won’t need the steak sauce because flavor and texture was great-filet mignon & New York, but I LOVED the sauce. Wedge salad was really good, really big though. While the entire meal was not inexpensive…($300. For 4 people- with 2 alcohol drinks), it was worth it. Fun, vibrant ambiance and service was good too. I would go here again.

    Very Over Rated

Our steaks were very tough and grisly. For $45 a piece you should get better. We were very disappointed and obviously will not go back. With so many good places in the city, our hotel should not have recommended this place.

    Delish

Benjamin Steakhouse is absolutely phenomenal. I had one of the best steaks of my life here and I have been to many steakhouses. The Rib Eye had a lot of marble, it was juicy, tender and extremely flavorful. The portion sizes are enormous, so you will definitely be taking home leftovers. The service is impeccable; they are friendly, attentive and professional. I will definitely be coming back here.

    Don't even bother!

Not happy at all with my experience here. Our waiter was inattentive. The food was okay, definitely nothing special. Too greasy and no Taste to it, not worth our money. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and skip on this place!

    Grease or Steak

Frozen butter, tuna tartare that taste like olive oil and parsley, and wedge salad with buffet style blue cheese dressing because it's all oil. The steak sandwich had undercooked bread - so that was a bloody mess. It's room service greasy food, dressed up like a steak house.
