sorry, i may be in the minority but i have to disagree
after having a hard time deciding which steakhouse to go to, we settled on benjamin steakhouse since that was the original plan. our table location was not great. we were sandwiched between two loud tables (the whole place is pretty loud) on the mezzanine. we could not see anything worth looking at in this restaurant as we were sat right by a service station...strike number one since we'd requested specifically to be sat away from service stations, but we opted not to complain. the decor i thought was pretty stark, white walls although soaring ceilings. no music??? surely a place this large would have music...we saw speakers but no sound coming out. it definitely would have helped the ambiance. i ordered the lobster bisque (it was pretty good, but again, i have had better) and a caesar salad. here is a big no-no: they brought them out at the same time. if there is one thing i cannot stand is when courses are all brought out at the same time. we asked them to please hold off on the salad while we finished our appetizers, but they hovered around and it appeared once again about 2 minutes later. they were probably just trying to be attentive, but i felt ambushed...just completely rushed. my mom wanted to scoop her lump crab cocktail onto her plate herself, but the waiter insisted and rudely reached over her. i was also reached in front of several times during the meal and i just felt uncomfortable. the food was plentiful, but the steak was not the best i have had. my filet was way undercooked so i sat there waiting for it while the rest of my table chowed down. they neglected to bring me another plate so i could at least eat some of the sides before they got cold. in the end, i won't go back, i'll try some of the other great steakhouses in new york.

Amazing!
I cannot say enough wonderful words about our experience at The Benjamin Steakhouse. From the moment we walked in the door, EVERYTHING was so lovely; the staff who greeted us, the waiter and his assistant, the wine, the steak, the cheesecake...I hated to leave! I will ALWAYS come back to this restaurant when visiting in New York City.

amazing dining
first time @ benjamins, my boyfriend wanted to take me somewhere with a romantic atmosphere and delicous food for my birthday..he was referred to benjamins..and from the second we walked in the door until the second we walked out, we were treated like royalty. on top of the amazing service and atmosphere that was provided, the food was spectacular, i cant count how many times i said during my meal" baby this is absoultely delicious.." such big portions, such great food. and to top it all off they brought out a desert with candles and sang to me! and bought us a round of drinks AND got to mee benjamin himself. WOW is all i can say. will definetly be back soon.

Lived up to expectations!
We went to eat there on May 25, 2009 for our last dinner in NYC. This place was recommended by the Millenium Hotel and it did not disappoint at all! The staff was great and the meal was EXCELLENT!!! It is a bit pricey, but you get what you paid for! The entire meal was great! It was well above and beyond expectations! If you want a great dining experience in NYC, go to the Benjamin!!! It's sooo worth it!

No Steak in the world is worth $82
The food was great, just what you expect from a steak house. But the rates they charge today is robbery. It's sure, bonified way to keep out the middle, working class, if that's the goal, They are doing a fabulous job.

Worth every penny
I had my first experience of Benjamin's Steakhouse last night. It was crowded, but after having the food I can see why. The bar and waitstaff were very friendly and made myself and my party feel like we were regulars. I liked the atmosphere and set up of the restaurant. I would recommend to my other friends, but most important I would go back.
