My girlfriend and I love this restaurant. The pecan crusted salmon and mussels were very delicious.

i love this place. the food is great and the owner's are obviously smart when it comes to giving the customer a feeling of money-well-spent. one thing that always has it first on my list is the specials. overall, it's a GREAT place to take people you CARE about and would like to see enjoying a good meal in a welcoming atmosphere.

I live in the neighborhood and have often walked by this friendly looking place and thought it seemed worth a try given its close location and attractive atmosphere, so I went with my brother a few weeks back for brunch. Unlike the bustling dinner crowd I have observed on my way to the Kips Bay movie theater, on a Saturday early afternoon you have your pick of tables. Despite (or maybe because) of the lack of patrons, we were greeted warmly and seated in a nice table across from the vintage bar. For brunch Benjamin offers an expected but nonetheless enticing menu. My brother and I have similar tastes, so we both ordered Eggs Copenhagen - essentially eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. We also ordered 2 OJ's and coffees. The OJ, coffee and a nice bread basket with fresh mini muffins and very soft but chewy and delicious bread arrived instantly, and shortly thereafter our eggs. The eggs came with the kind of potato/green pepper skillet potatos I usually don't enjoy too much, but these were moist, flavorful, and delicious, as were the eggs which were nicely presented and came with a top notch Hollandaise. We found ourselves mopping up the remaining sauce and eggs yolks with the bread. Overall it was a very well priced, pleasant meal, and I really look forward to going back before a movie at Kips Bay. I think this will be a local favorite.

As a single/solo diner -- I have eaten here many times and been satisfied with food and service. The prices are always creeping up and I can definitely find much better value in this neighbourhood. As a frequent diner -- I enjoy a "regular hang out restaurant/bar" where I am known and remembered and feel at home/welcomed. In 5 years I have never been comp'd a drink at the bar -- or been remembered or spoken to warmly. So this falls short of my comfort level -- by a lot! I guess the word is no "Ambience." I will no longer give my patronage to this restuarant. Their evening specials are a bargain.
