Need better staff
Always a fun and great place to eat. You always know what your are in store for. If you have been to one you have been to them all. The only issue we have seen here is the unfriendly staff. Rude and unhelpful. If you ever tried to take out from here, they wont let you Fri, Sat or Sun... Doesnt matter what you order or if they are busy or not, its there policy. Fire some staff members, cut the no take out policy and hire some more friendly employees and there business would be great! Until than, we just have to deal with the rudeness of the employees. Enjoy.

Loud and Unreasonably Overpriced
Everyone knows the schtick by now. You get an asian chef, usually pretty talented and fun, who is your hibatchi cook and host for the night. If that's the reason you go to Benihana, enjoy. Because, you really shouldn't go for the food or drinks. It's incredibly overpriced, and really uncomfortable seating arrangements. The edamame is standard, even good. But everything else turns out burnt and over-seasoned. Everyone knows this place is a gimmick.

The food was great... the service was good, but the prices are a little high.

wont be back at all
i went to this rest. on saturday and to say the least i was not impressed at all...the place was small cramped..the wait was aprox 1.5hours..the food was overprices 19 bucks for yakisoba and it didnt even taste good the chicken was tough...it was group of 10 people celebrating a birthday..Ive been to other hibatchi rest prior and this place was so louddddddd filled with drunk people and every other 20mins someone was singing happie birthday at a table..you can barely here yourself speak with all the noise...although the chief "kin" i think his name was was ok the main dishes were not good...one good thing i can say is the brocilli tempura was good and the edamame...but if your looking for a hibatchi place to eat try something else..at the end of the night our tab was $424 just overpriced for no reason. ive had better yakisoba across the street at the cafe by my job...stick to appetizers here nothing more...and dont expect to to see sushi on this menu its not but they do have it you have to ask for it like one lady in our party did.

Loving it for 23 years
I have been going to benihana for my birthdays, and just casual dinners for about 23 years now....although the restaurant is loud and filled with kids, you cant beat the amazing soup salad and the sauce i put on my rice....it is amazing...dont come here for a "romantic dinner" but if you want a nice fun enjoyable night out, this is the place to be....tastes may vary, so dont base your trial of this restaurant on me...i grew up with it

Great food
This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It is not a tourist trap what so ever, I have lived in the city for a year and go atleast a couple times a month. If you want the absolute best, be ready to spend a little more and get the filet mignon. It is delicious. Also, dont forget to order fried rice. They use garlic butter which is to die for. You get to watch them prepare your food in front of you, and although it might take a while, it is more than worth the wait. Just remember to always make a reservation even if its in the middle of the week.

Fun birthday party
We recently went to Benihana's for a birthday. The food was good - the value was great. Everyone ate and drank for about $40 a person. I would recommend it for groups. Getting seated was a total hassle, but once seated, service was good. The scallops were amazing, and the chicken fried rice was the best we'd ever tasted.
