Left with a brunch dish that was undercooked - the waitress never checked in with us, never offered any other dish, the manager walked past us numerous time and ignored us while we sat with our dishes in front of us - obviously finished and unsatisfied. the waitress delivered our check before she even cleared our plates. sorry benchmark, we wanted to love you. but that was way uncool.

I tried very hard to love this restaurant so much so I went back three times. Now it's confirmed I will not be back. First time was great no complaints. 2nd and 3rd time went with parties of 4 everyone had ribeyes and each time now the thickness of all was terribly inconsistent. Embarrassing to me that a steak house cannot butcher meat consistently. How can you justify one guest getting a steak nearly 2inches thick and others ordering the same but getting a 1 inch thick steak in a steakhouse? The prices and side dishes can't make up for that. Too many other steakhouses to put up with that.

I took my Brooklyn history loving hubby here and it was treat for him and for me. It's a beautiful almost secret garden kind of place. Interesting wines (I'm a sommelier). We both had ahi tuna. I would go here just to sit at the bar and drink wine. Great place to take visitors and share our interesting Brooklyn history.

Because you'll be sitting there for a ridiculous amount of time waiting for your food. I was at the restaurant on a recent rainy Tuesday with friends - the place was virtually empty. We placed a drink order and waited 45 minutes for someone to come back and take dinner orders. Once we did, it was over an hour to get food. The service is poor - not worth it!! Don't get me wrong, I like to relax and enjoy a long evening - but the lack of any attention whatsoever was aggravating. The food was not good enough to put up with the subpar service.

Service was slow, but that was OK, because we weren't in a hurry; we did notice that our waitress was much more attentive to a nearby table; I guess the folks there were regulars, but it was still annoying to have to wave at her every time we needed something. I had the NY Strip, which I ordered medium-rare: there was NO char, and the meat was done to the well side of medium (inexcusable). This was probably owing to the thin cut of the meat, which was so stingy only an expert could have cooked it properly. Considered sending it back, but had been sitting for well over an hour at that point, and weren't prepared to wait another hour for something that wasn't likely to be much better. Wife's boneless ribeye did have a nice char, and was cooked to medium rare, but the meat was tough, and had little flavor. Sides were uninteresting. If you want steak, this is not the place. For brunch, probably OK, but there must be better options. Strongly recommend against this place; it was a major disappointment.

My wife and I each went with a different steak - both were very well prepared and amazing. My mashed potato and spinach side was spot on as well, great combo dish! Very reasonable pricing for high quality steak - great Park Slope find. Exactly my kind of spot, less than 20 tables (inside during colder months) and unique menu. Next time we're in the neighborhood we'll definitely return, and highly recommend to anyone looking to eat out in Park Slope area!

My husband and I were so excited to eat here after browsing the menu and reading the reviews however we were completely disappointed. The waitress was in La-La Land and brought us the wrong wine, they were out of a couple of plates, and what we did order was flavorless and/or non-appetizing. The acid and fat components in the duck confit were completely off and off-putting, plus the pieces of confit were overcooked and scarce. My medium, medium/rare filet mignon was well done and the accompaniments couldn't save it. The caramelized marrow were little nuggets of cooled fat and the potato gratin was flavor-less (and it's such an easy side). I don't know if the Chef was off this night or who was running the show, but what came out of that kitchen and landed on our table should simply not have. Too bad too, we were looking for a neighborhood go-to.
