    Great place

We frequent the place on 5Th Av quite a lot and must say we are always very happy.Excellent decor complimented with a pretty good service and a great Steak.Decent sides.Every time we get here we feel great.their staff is pretty atentive as well.We miss their big bartender because he was so much fun to be with and his cocktails were out of this world.Especially his martinies.Overall it is still a pretty good experience in a dining room

    glop

Ate lunch here. Caesar salad drenched in dressing. Grilled salmon that was half inedible due to gristle, some indifferent broccoli with no flavor or seasoning, and a blob of mashed potatoes. A diner would have been embarrassed to serve those vegetables.

    Another Great meal

My husband and I had a marvelous meal AGAIN! When we are in NYC we always make a point of visiting this restaurant. The steaks are done to perfection. The appetizers fantastic. The sides are generous and delicious and the martinis marvelous as one would expect in a New York steakhouse. The waiters are the best and remembered us even though it was almost a year since our last visit. Since we travel frequently and have tried many steak restaurants, this is a dining experience well worth the visit.

    great happy hour

Great place for happy hour with $6 wine and $7 mixed drinks from 5-7pm. Also ordered fried calamari and it was just delicious. Great atmosphere after work.

    Bizarro World

Went here (rather than trekking to Brooklyn for Peter Luger's), and the food itself was almost as tasty. The menu is virtually a copy of PL, but not sure if the quality was as good. The really strange part was the atmosphere and service. We were seated in a mostly empty side dining area, and there seemed to be about 10 more waiters than necessary, tripping over each other, aiming to please, I suppose. It made for an overly forced formal and awkward atmosphere. Granted, at these prices, you want attentive service, but it verged on creepy.

    Great Steak, So-So Service

This is still one of my favorite steak joints - the meat is stellar. Unfortunately, the service is consistently average - the waiters are gruff and definitely give you attitude if you don't order what they consider enough food.

    Still one of the best!

I love steak and I have been to most of the good steak houses in the city. I went to Ben and Jack's few times and I never had a bad meal. Last night I went there with the client and had a great time. The quality of their food hasn't change at all since they opened. The service was good as well. Will go back soon!
