Thank You
My girlfriend was upset with me and we meet to go to dinner, I choose to go to a steakhouse, we went to Ben Benson Steakhouse. She was so happy with the solid wine list (she is a pain.) The big, thick steak and service attentive and friendly that we kiss and made up. Thank you Ben Benson .

Don't Bother
Unbelievable. Our party of seven had a variety of different meats and 3 of the 7 sent their food back - tough, undercooked, overcooked. In actuality, these folk really don't give an damn about their product nor this tired old place. This place is an tourist trap. Go elsewhere... we certainly will.

Disappointing experience
Restaurant was recommended by concierge at hotel as solid restaurant for dinner with several colleagues (6 in total). Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience starting w/ very poor service (sat at table for 15 minutes before server took initial drink order), waiter was very rushed and did poor job highlighting menu, and food was average for $50-$100 pp restaurant. Live in Chicago and know good steak restaurants - would never recommend Ben Bensons as there are several better options.

Raw $50 Steak?!
Lived in the city 2 years now--my parents both born and raised here; they come to visit every year for a holiday dinner around Christmas time. Service was great, but my MEDIUM steak came out with blood oozing from it! I sent it back and it came out just as raw! They were nice enough to take it off the menu, but I look at it like this--a $50 steak restaurant in mid-town is a dime a dozen and you strike out on the first strike, not after the third... Last year my folks and I went to the Palm and I can't wait to go back next year....or maybe I'll go back next week :-) Sorry Ben Benson's, you struck out and in this city, you don't get a second chance. dp

The best martinies in the city
Highly recommended for after work drinks. They have the biggest and the best martinis in the City. Steaks are good, have great sides too (creamed mushrooms -will not find in any other steak houses). Better than most chain steak houses in NYC.

Great lunch !
We wanted to try Ben Benson's during Restaurant Week and I am happy to say we had a great lunch. Appetizers were simply soup or salad, which was fine with us and then we had fabulous prime rib and good sliced filet mignon and this is what really counts in a steak house. The meat was excellent quality and perfectly cooked as requested. They had two more entree choices for non-carnivores. Our desserts, bread pudding and cheese cake were also very good. Service was correct and there is a pleasant steak-house atmosphere which made for a delightful lunch. After this experience, we'll be happy to go back any time.
