    Great Find

Strolling along Amsterdam's restaurant row checking out menus. This restaurant had excellent menu lots of choices, lots of specials and 3 course prix fixe @$19.99. We chose tapas everything was well prepared and very tasty. Can't wait to return to try the pastas and Morraccan Dishes!

Great place for some tapas and vino with friends!

I have been a regular at Bello's for over 4 years, and I have to say not only is the food great ,but at these prices, you can actually go home with some money in your pocket. Insider tip: sitting at the bar is great for people watching and the staff is always great at giving advice if you are stumped. From wonderful wine to the great pasta dishes, its a treat, and I am glad I found it.

    Great for a group!

I went here with a large group. The servers were very accomodating about moving tables together for us and they got everyone's order correct. The prix fixe menu is a great value and absolutely delicious. Extensive wine list as well. I was very impressed.

    Very Satisfied

Since Kefi moved locations I was looking for a new place that had a similar style. I had passed Bello Sguardo numerous times and saw they had tapas etc but never tried. Finally about a month ago I tried it and have been back three times already. The food is fabulous and at a reasonable price. The service was a tiny bit slow but fine and everyone there is extremely nice. I think this is a neighborhood gem!

Good tapas and service, nice ambience

My fiancee and I went last night and had a very nice time. We tried the Montepulciano wine which was amazing fresh out the bottle. Everything on the menu looked good, so we decided to have tapas to try a little of everything. The lamb and beef borek was AMAZING. Def recommend it. The roasted egglant was good, although it is a cold dish (I do recommend they put on the menu which dishes are warm and cold like most tapa restaurants). At first we were worried that the portions were too small and we wouldn't be full after 4 dishes, but we were! plus they give you bread and olive tepanade automatically with your meal, which is fabulous! It's a nice date spot and not too pricey!

    Recession Real Deal

Went there for dinner last night around 6PM. Place was already packed. I was accommodated promptly. Host, co owner was very friendly and he help go through menu. I choose Prix-Fixe, three courses for $25.00, each course few choices. Started with home made hummus and grilled pita bread. It was so fresh and perfectly done. For main course I had pomegranate glazed Sea Bass served with spicy carrots and cilantro, it was so good that fills like melting in mouth. At the end I had Baklava with pistachio and freshly made whipped cream, you must try this traditional Turkish delicacy it is like to die for. They offer special wine with Prix-Fixe menu, Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Grigio, both from Napa Valley, each $6.00 glass / $20.00 bottle. For quality of food and service, this is great, great deal.

Varied Menu, Good Service, Good Value

We enjoyed a very pleasant dinner here on a recent late Saturday evening. The menu is truly Mediterranean (Turkish, Greek, Italian, Spanish) and most of the food we ordered was well-prepared, tasty, and nicely presented. We did not experience the over-saltiness others have complained about. Lamb chops were very fresh and perfectly cooked, salads were good (but a little boring), the shrimp with kaseri cheese was wonderful. The wine [select]ion was good and very fairly priced. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The almond pudding dessert was extraordinary! Prices were very reasonable - our dinner for two came to approximately $50pp for appetizers, entrees and a bottle of wine. Among the endless UWS restaurants lining Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues, this was a slight cut above most of the others we've tried.
