Great meatballs! Friendly service. Well worth it. Cash only.

My wife and I brought out of town guests to this restaurant, which we have frequented on many occasions over the years. The owner could not have been any more rude, offensive and unbalanced to my family despite the fact that he knows us. Our major offense was bringing a small child. The food is adequate and overpriced, but certainly not worth subjecting yourself to horrible service and treatment. In a city with so many wonderful restaurants, I would recommend going elsewhere.

No one at Bello is "extremely, extremely rude". Apparently, "offended" is someone who is easily upset. The service at Bello is great. As is the case with most places, when the garden is packed and the main room is slightly busy service may be slightly behind. But overall it's great. And if you take the time to actually talk to them and be friendly you WILL be rewarded. Take some time from your normal hectic NYC lifestyle and relax. That's what it's all about!! Having said that, the food is very good. And they always have creative, interesting specials. So don't forget to ask about those as well. "offended", I think you should try going there and sampling the atmosphere and the people and maybe you might change your mind. Or, at least, realize what service people go through every night.

This place is out of this world. The garden in the back is fantastic. The food makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If you are thinking of going don't think twice. Do yourself a favor and try the meatballs.

My husband and I go to or order in at least twice a week from here. They have awesome red sauce- My husband is Italian and knows his sauce. Such a great little jewel in the upper west side. Don't forget cash- bc they don't take cards.

I have lived in NYC for years and my greatest pleasure (still) is coming across a gem of a restaurant. Bello Giardino is perfect for a night in the garden. You can forget where you are...I found the service to be kind and efficient, the food to be solid and the prices very reasonable. Just BRING CASH, as no credit cards are taken. If you are looking for a nook and cranny that delivers a bigger experience, this is the place to be. I will be back for sure.

DO NOT order for delivery. Service is slow and the hostess is extremely, extremely rude. If you dare to ask a question, she'll give you an attitude. Too many great restaurants around this area to have to deal with this.
