    Wow, really?

    I never imagined it would be possible for a restaurant to prepare such poor quality and flavorless food. You really have to work hard at killing what is naturally such a flavorful cuisine. Portions were small (which in our case was a blessing because most was not edible), prices were too high and service was barely average. We moved to the area recently and brought both of our mothers here after a visit to an area Museum. What a sad introduction to NYC dinning! (I am sure this has to be an exception to the rule). I feel better knowing that we were not the only ones seeing this place for what it is. Do not waste your time or money here.

    Gone way downhill...

    I have to agree with the last review. Something has changed at this place. I asked the manager if there's a new owner and he said no, but I find that hard to believe given the drop in food quality and service (plus menu changes). Also, he told me the reason they no longer put pancetta in the Penne a la Vodka is because they stopped serving pork products. He then told me, after I mentioned that there were only 2 meats in the antipasti plate (there are usually more) that there should have been prosciutto. Huh? Do they not realize that prosciutto is a pork product? And a small piece of advise for the manager - the next time a longtime customer tells you that their meal is very disappointing and that there was white plastic left on the edge of the salami (or whatever that meat-like product was impersonating salami) you might want to consider apologizing. One little "I'm sorry" not only would have kept me from throwing out your menu (giving you at least one more chance) but it also would have kept me from writing this review. As a manager, you should at least pretend to care!

    What happened here

    Bellini is the place, i always ordered for delivery and go there at least once a week. Something changed in this place. Small portions and service is going down. waitresses are not speaking and understanding English. Owner needs to do something. i care about this place thats why i am writting this comment. thanks

    TINY Portions

    What is with the tiny portions of food?! I dined here Saturday 8/21/2010 and was very disappointed with the size of my chicken parmigiana. The chicken was sliced so thin before cooking, it's barely noticable in the breading. I was not fooled with 2 pieces of chicken either because these were so thin. And barely a serving of pasta underneath the chicken. Really, pasta is the cheapest thing you can serve, and you can't even serve a nice size serving of it?? During my 45 minute 5pm visit, no one came in during that time. THAT alone should explain it...this place is not worth it and it shows with no customers while the restaurants next door were booming. This was my second time dining here, the first was a better experience, however they charged me for each refill of iced tea! THAT is not right, especially when the glass is mostly ice. Charging for refills of iced tea and soft drinks is just bad business. Serving children sized portions is even worse business. If Bellini wants to be successful, they'll have to make some changes... On a good note, the waitress was kind, and I enjoyed the music playing. Cute looking place, but need to serve decent portions.

    Fabulous food in the neighborhood

    I stumbled upon this small restaurant a few weeks ago, and have eaten there and ordered in several times since then. The food is so tasty and the prices are so reasonable!! The eggplant parmesan is thin and savory, not the thick sloppy stuff you find in other places. The pastas are all cooked so well, and the vodka sauce is thick and sooooo delicious! The pizza is thin crust and terrific in the restaurant, but it doesn't travel so well, so maybe don't order the pizza in? Other than that, I really, really recommend this place.

    sub-par

    unfortunately, we stumbled into Bellini tonight and ordered a sub-par salad, unimpressive chicken parm, and a pretty gross linguine primavera. we were not thrilled with the food, but figured, we just suck it up and eat it. the kicker, though, was when our waitress brought over a glass of ginger ale with a LIPSTICK stain on the rim. needless to say, we won't be returning. if you like Italian food on the UWS, stick with Celeste.

    good food TINY portions

    I just ordered their penne ala vodka entree delivered and was stunned to find it has shrunk to half its previous size---an appetizer portion at best. Don't understand it; if the restaurant is in trouble this is a poor way to economize. They save, what, a few pennies on pasta and sauce and lose a repeat customer for good.
