    Wonderful Evening

Go for the food and the service. Everyone was so helpful. The new owners are charming and smart. We loved the mussels, and I'm very picky. The fish special was delightful, and I usually don't enjoy fish. We even found a parking spot within a half a block. We'll be back soon. See you there.

    Major Service Problems

there is a major disconnect at this restaurant. the food is good. but the service is consistently poor. just because its a french restaurant doesn't mean you get to be rude. dont even think about trying to order delivery ... the hosts head almost exploded when i talked to him.

    Excellent

Had an absolutely wonderful meal here last night - everything was excellent, including the service. The shared cheese platter was delightful and generously portioned and the short ribs were solid (melting-in-the mouth perfectly cooked, but it needed a bit more seasoning). But the real star of the show was the seared scallops with risotto. Wow. It's really something special.

    Cozy, romantic & great ambience!

My boyfriend and I are regulars at Belleville & we can't say enough good things. As a vegetarian, I'm not normally a fan of french cuisine-- however, their menu has a refreshing mix of French classics as well as new innovations that suit a range of tastes. Everything I've ever tasted there is delicious, but I especially love their brunch and (to die for!) desserts. The staff is very warm & the manager is always super charming & sweet. It's fantastic for a romantic date or a mimosa-fueled brunch with girlfriends. I love you B-ville!

    Great date night!

We visited Belleville on a Friday night. The staff was super attentive. They answered questions we had about the menu and even made one of the entrees vegan for me. They offered us free drinks and were so friendly. We would definitely visit again. And the music on our visit was very pleasant and classic.

Who is in charge of the music?!

I just read the previous review, and felt so validated I had to write a quick response. I just had a lovely dinner at Belleville, but their choice of ambient music totally killed the experience. The beautiful decor and romantic environment was set to the bizarre soundtrack of Rihanna and Cee lo. I thought it was an off night, but it sounds like it's a common occurrence. Weird. They should cut that out. Now.

    Meh. Won't be going back.

Went for brunch here today and I'm glad I went because now I know I won't go back :) Ambiance inside is definitely nice if you want a french bistro setting. The music was way off though -I love a good ACDC tune but not in this type of setting and especially not blasting like it was here. Sat outside, our sever was fine, no complaints. She was on top of her tables (kept offering coffee, asked a couple times how we were doing) and as a former server I appreciate that. But the food? So not impressed. My husband and I split an eggs benedict that came with potatoes and greens, and a savory crepe with sauteed onions, bacon and gruyere. His eggs were cooked well. However his plate had clearly been under the heatlamp because his greens were disgusting and limp and sogged. The crepe which we were looking forward to was suuuuper disappointing. We couldn't decide if it was undercooked or just not thin enough. It was gummy, yuk. It was like a pancake with savory filling. Not good. Disappointing because if you claim to be a French bistro you should be able to execute the one crepe you have on your menu. Coffee was decent and was strong which we appreciated however nothing about the food was inspiring or "mmm" worthy. Sorry Belleville, looks like you need to give you food a makeover.
