Bella Vita was recommended to my boyfriend and me by a NYPD officer on Broadway. We headed over, famished, after a Mets game yesterday (Go Mets!!) and were welcomed warmly by staff immmediately! I studied in Italy last semester in Florence and lived with a host family, and this place was very authentic! My boyfriend, a tough food critic whose mother is a fabulous italian cook, LOVED it. We both felt like we were in Italy tiny cozy atmosphere, single-sex bathroom, fabulous home-made and fresh taste of everything! Too bad the waitress was Hungarian .... Would highly recommend the calamari, vodka sauce, and the rustico panini. Great place! Thanks!!

We ate there last night. We ordered 2 appetizers garlic knots and 2 dishes of pasta. I didnt eat all day I was STARVING so I called the witress over I asked for a slice of pizza. I was told I wasnt allowed to eat slices at the table I had to order a whole pie. There were only 2 of us, even if we didnt get all the other food do they expect 2 people to eat a whole pie. Granted I can do 4 slices my fiance is done after one. I explained the slices were right over there, I was looking right at them why cant I have one they said they only sell whole pies I have to get up and stand to eat a slice.

The food is wonderful, the owner and staff terrific and the location in the heart of the theater district is exciting. I make it a point to eat here whenever in New York.

This pizza rocks! You will want to slap your mother it's so good. Very light crispy crust, tasty pizza sauce and fresh Mozzarella slices on top along with any topping(s) you prefer. I make it a point to stop in several times while visiting New York.

i went there with my boyfriend the other night. for one small pizza and two peroni beers, the tab was 30 dollars. i did not think the pizza was tasty in any regard. it was also overpriced. and atmosphere is also lacking, even though they dim the lights as it gets to dinner time. i would not go back.

I am a repeat customer at Bella Vita. The food keeps me coming back. The atmosphere isn't the best, but the food is top notch. The Vodka sauce is the best I have ever had. The prices are excellent as well. Its a great place to go when I am in midtown.

I live a few blocks away from this restaurant. There are so many pizza/pasta places in my area to choose from, but Bella Vita has been the one place I can always count on for affordable, delicious food. I've had the salads almost everytime I've been there (both the avocado and Bella Mista salads are excellent and the small sized one is enough for 2 people) , and everytime the food quality has been excellent. I also enjoy the wheat crust on the Margherita pizza. It is a busy restaurant and there may be a wait, but the staff has been very honest about the expected wait time, and the wait times haven't been unreasonable for a restaurant right near Times Square.
