Hit or Miss
As a long time resident of midtown, I have ordered Pizza from Bella Vita about once or twice a month for 3 years now, like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of pizza you going to get. Sometimes, the crust is nice and crispy with a nice chewy center, perfect cheese and sauce ratio. and other times it your better off eating the cardboard box that it comes in! I am famous for asking them to cook it lightly, while I wait for the delivery I crank up my oven at home and finish it off when delivered, this has prevented me from getting a burnt pie (yes that has happened a few times as well) the pasta and sandwich dishes are best eaten there.

Great white pizza and fresh antipasto
My daughter and I stopped in, in a big hurry, pre show time in July 2008. They d a space for us in the very crowded bar area. We were served a delicious antipasto with fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and vegies piled high on a plate, drizzled with olive oil, in record time. Next came the best white pizza we have ever eaten, decorated with whole fresh basil leaves. Absolutely delicious and totally unexpected. We can't wait to repeat the performance !

different prices then 58th St
This place has great pizza, but the prices are different than the one on 58th (almost $3 per pie). But really tastey if you don't care about getting the times square jip. The 58th St place also has a better environment & less tourist traffic.

Excellent choice!
Bella Vita was recommended to my boyfriend and me by a NYPD officer on Broadway. We headed over, famished, after a Mets game yesterday (Go Mets!!) and were welcomed warmly by staff immmediately! I studied in Italy last semester in Florence and lived with a host family, and this place was very authentic! My boyfriend, a tough food critic whose mother is a fabulous italian cook, LOVED it. We both felt like we were in Italy tiny cozy atmosphere, single-sex bathroom, fabulous home-made and fresh taste of everything! Too bad the waitress was Hungarian .... Would highly recommend the calamari, vodka sauce, and the rustico panini. Great place! Thanks!!
