Love this restaurant!
This is a great place to eat...we come back time and time again, and e live here. Is it crowded? It is. Is it loud? It is. Is it New York City? YES! We love the food, the service - all of it.

I live in the city and have been to a lot of restaurants and this one is one of the most disappointing. We expected it to be good since it is owned by a celebrity chef. We ordered the pasta special and all three pastas were overcooked and bland. The tomato sauce was like something you get out of a jar. The waiter was pushy and inattentive. They put us in the back room which was very warm.

Sat. Night Disappointment
I was so excited to be eating at a restaurant owned by "Lydia", she taught me so many great Italian meals from her cooking shows. I have her cookbooks and use them alot. What a disappointment to finally go to Becco and just hate the food. Does Lydia even go to her restaurants and check the food quality out? Was it bad because we all ordered the pasta house special meal? I love the sauce on pastas, that''s what makes the pasta worth eating. The sauce on all three pasta dishes served were so bland and tasteless. The company at my table were requesting to have the pepper, salt and parmesan cheese passed around a little too much. I am a New Yorker and felt like you were trying to put over on a tourist from out of town. Sad, Sad!! The wait staff were great!! Service was great!! But I wouldn't go back for the food!

Still a great dining experience !
Another great dining experience at Becco on Sunday July 4th. We have been to Becco so many times and they never disappoint. I can't imagine anyone having a negative experience here. Food, service, atmosphere, always consistently upbeat and delicious. The Osso Bucco and Pasta Simphonie today were outstanding ! Great desserts too!!! A special shout out to our Maitre'd, who is attentive and generous to a fault. We will continue to visit our fave NYC restaurant and will recommend others to do so as well.

always wonderful
A trip to NYC wouldn't bee complete without a dinner at Becco. The food is always delicious and hot. My son added the pasta course to his entree and had to have seconds on gnocchi. I learned to make gnocchi at home to replicate the dish. Service is always perfect. Attentive, but not smothering. Even the bus staff are quick and courteous. I've been there with friends and by myself after a show and have always felt welcome. Seafood with Polenta, Caramelized Pear Zabaglione, even the cappuccino are the best. The $25 bottle of wine is great. Every recommendation by the waiter has been a good choice. We are planning another trip next month and have already made a reservation. Can't wait!!

This was by far one of the most disappointing meals that we have eaten at an Italian restaurant in NYC or anywhere. The pasta was not even pizza parlor quality. It was doused in hot pepper and tasteless. To add insult to injury the service was hideous; the food was literally thrown at us. And it was boiling hot inside the restaurant.

Delcious meal, Excellent service
Had a very enjoyable meal at Becco 7/15. The pasta special is a great value. I had the fish of the day - fluke with sauteed spinach and mashed potatoes. I was a bit disappointed with the dessert sampler, very average flavors. Wonderful, attentive service. Request a table upstairs!
