Becco

My wife and I celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary on 4/16 with close friends of ours with a matinee of Spiderman,Turn Off the Dark and dinner at Becco.We were seated promptly upon our arrival on the 2nd floor "porch" with a view of 46th St. From start to finish another exceptional meal with smart professional service.Osso Bucco, Veal Parmigianna, Pulled Pork, and the unlimited Symphonie DePasta entrees (my wifes fave) were all 5 stars in presentation,quality and flavor. The three pasta entree deserves a mention. Featured were a spaghetti in tomato basil sauce, diamond shaped pasta with shrimp and lobster meat in a seafood brodo, and mushrrom stuffed ravioli in a truffle oil sauce. All 3 were outstanding. Since there's always room for dessert, even when there really isn't, we ordere the canolli's encrusted with roasted pistachios, Italian Cheesecake with fresh berries and a sampling of 3 sorbets, strawberry, pear, and blood orange. Nothing disappointed us here! On a personal note, as frequent visitors to Becco, we have established a great relationship with several mangement and wait staff. When they found out it was our Anniversary. we received a bottle of Presecco ( Sparkling Italian Wine ),and an appetizer platter that included Prosciutto de Parma, Aged romano cheese,roasted peppers and buffalo mozarella compliments of Becco with their congratulations. Classy move and very much appreciated. We will continue to patronize Becco as often as possible and will confidently recommend this fine dining establishment to all of our friends and family. For the negative reviewers here, occasionally everyone has an off day. If you did have what you considered a bad experience at Becco. give them another visit., I'm sure you'll change your mind !

I have been dining at Becco for many years. This past Sunday is the first time I had something negative to say. We arrived (4) without at reservation @3:30 pm -we were seated immedately. When our server appeared. He introduced himself. Someone else took our cocktail order -when the original server re-appeared I asked if the famous pasta special was available (2 of the 4 in our party had never been to Becco) The response was "I'm getting to that, I didn't know you were in such a rush"- I clearly stated that was quite the contrary - our theatre tickets were for 7:30 pm- all four of us had a hard time understanding the server (at the time I thought it was just me)for whatever reason, we annoyed him - As I wrote before, I have been going ot Becco for many years and I've never had a service problem. We left immedately after dinner prefering to have our dessert and coffee somewhere elseVery, very disdappointing - The next time I will be sure not to be seated in this servers' section.

Had reservations last week, pre-theatre at 6:15. We were repeatedly told our table was almost ready but we were not seated until 6:40 by which time we were frazzeled and rushed. The food was OK (had the special halibut) but not worth the crush of people or the unpleasant front of house staff. We bolted our dessert and had to rush to make the curtain.

On Thur Feb. 24 my wife and I enjoyed a very nice dinner. The service and food was outstanding. When I made our rev. I mentioned it was our Annv. 2 weeks later when we had dinner they remembed and gave us a desert and wine with them for our Annv. Our waiter was Jason and Maria who was very nice and thankfull. When we go back we will asked for them again. Again it was a very nice dinner. Thank you

My husband and I were there for the first time, and all I can say is I can't wait to go back. The service was great, and the food was just as great. I'm first generation Italian, and the only thing better than this was my mothers cooking, and this is darn close...... I'd recommend Becco in a heartbeat! Don't miss the chance for a great night out, you'll love it!

My Girlfriend and I were there during the Christmas Season, on a Saturday night with two other couples, close friends. One had recommended we go there for dinner .. I have to tell you, I have eaten in many fine resturants all over this country and in N.Y.C., "Becco" is without a doubt one of the finest places to spend an evening and enjoy all they have to offer.... As I sit here and read these reviews, I think to myself these people do not know nor have they the slightest idea what a good Resturant is.. Oh and by the way we are going into the City tonight for a Valentine's dinner with the same two couples.

our waitress was wonderful reservation was right on time selection of wine was great salads and appetizers and the hummus was delicious but the signature dish was uncooked, cold, not tasty, watery, and such a tremendous disappointment that i will definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone i like. lidia needs to go back and beat up chef Gallagher back into meeting up to her standards
