I go to NYC many times a year. Although there are lots of restaurants I enjoy I never get tired of Becco. Whenever I bring someone to NYC for their first visit Becco is the restaurant of choice and no one has ever been displeased. The service and food have always been excellent. I don't eat red meat and when having the pasta trio of the day they always make a substitute pasta dish without meat for those of us who don't eat red meat. Pleasant, fun wait staff even on the busiest of days. Never disappointed. They have a wonderful wine list including a good choice of bottles for $25. I look forward to my next visit. I highly recommend Becco but be sure to make a reservation!

The only people who will like this restaurant are tourists. The food is just ok (I may be able to make better pasta at home) but the service is miserable. If the manager or owner ever sees this please retrain your staff

From the street, it looks like any other restaurant, but once you step inside, the extremely pleasant staff leads you to the back, and you find yourself in a large room with a low ceiling and two enormous skylights. Open and sunlit, the atmosphere could not have been more authentic. Then there's the food. I ordered an appetizer special which was a baked, soft cheese--not mozzarella, but something similar--served over thick, toasted bread and set upon a bed of the BEST broccoli rabe I have ever had. This was followed by the antipasto, which included an octopus salad, skate fish, peas and ricotta on the side. The ricotta, drizzled with honey, was light as air and just a bit sweet. It could have been served for dessert. The three pastas we ordered next were semolina gnocci in cream sauce, orecchiette with bacon and onions and finally, “ordinary” spaghetti with tomato/basil sauce. Each one was better than the next. I am not one to be impressed by spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil, but even this mainstay was a tasty treat. In short (too late!), each bite was a delight, a separate, masterful flavor. I would dine here again and again and again.

It's all about food here. The atmosphere and room is very cramped and limited space wise, however once that food enters your mouth, you are taken elsewhere to a place of pure happiness and appreciation... Oh yes.... Its that amaaaaaaazing

Went to Becco last night and was pretty disappointed. The food is mediocre, the place was loud (and busy, good for them), and the service was unimpressive (pleasant enough but not easy to understand and had to ask for refills of water, pasta, etc.). Would not recommend to anyone.

my 3 friends and I walked in at 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon. we had a lot of fun, ordered a lot of food and a bottle of wine. within 90 minutes we had spent over $200. all of the sudden we were asked to leave the restaurant to make room for the next customers. not only did they not care that i was still sipping on my wine, the manager was not at all interested in in our complaint. never again will we go back to a place that doesn't appreciate their customers.

My wife and I celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary on 4/16 with close friends of ours with a matinee of Spiderman,Turn Off the Dark and dinner at Becco. We were seated promptly upon our arrival on the 2nd floor "porch" with a view of 46th St. From start to finish another exceptional meal with smart professional service.Osso Bucco, Veal Parmigianna, Pulled Pork, and the unlimited Symphonie DePasta entrees (my wifes fave) were all 5 stars in presentation, quality and flavor. The three pasta entree deserves a mention. Featured were a spaghetti in tomato basil sauce, diamond shaped pasta with shrimp and lobster meat in a seafood brodo, and mushrrom stuffed ravioli in a truffle oil sauce. All 3 were outstanding. Since there's always room for dessert, even when there really isn't, we ordere the canolli's encrusted with roasted pistachios, Italian Cheesecake with fresh berries and a sampling of 3 sorbets, strawberry, pear, and blood orange. Nothing disappointed us here! On a personal note, as frequent visitors to Becco, we have established a great relationship with several mangement and wait staff. When they found out it was our Anniversary. we received a bottle of Presecco ( Sparkling Italian Wine ),and an appetizer platter that included Prosciutto de Parma, Aged romano cheese, roasted peppers and buffalo mozarella compliments of Becco with their congratulations. Classy move and very much appreciated. We will continue to patronize Becco as often as possible and will confidently recommend this fine dining establishment to all of our friends and family. For the negative reviewers here, occasionally everyone has an off day. If you did have what you considered a bad experience at Becco. give them another visit., I'm sure you'll change your mind !
