I hate pasta so I was not looking forward to this meal. I have/had no idea who the lady owner is and it was pot luck that led us to Becco - thank you pot luck! Everything was superb and they have 3 pastas of the day which you can have unlimited amounts of for a fixed price. Being a pasta hater I originally declined this in favour of meat but my companions opted for a "second course" consisting of samplers of these pasta so I went along for the ride. Wow. They were all outstanding and I would have gladly just ate those (all vegetarian incidentally) I also had the Osso Bucco which was achingly tender. Try Becco, you will not be wasting your dollars!

This place def accomodates the crowd that dines there. I went on a Sun. after a matinee. I had the mussels off the menu, they were delicious! All entrees come with ceasar salad which was nice. The pasta dish was a great deal if they have a good selection. I had the dessert sampler which was a nice selection. The service was great. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to eat at one of Lidia's restaurants and wants to feel comfortable. (Felidia's is a bit more pretentious but very good).

I love Lidia and watch her cooking show on Public TV. When she cooks on her show everything looks mouth watering. I even bought one of her cookbooks. It's a different story at her restaurant. We have been there four times because I just don't want to give up. The first two times were excellent. The food was great and the service was very good. Unfortunately, the last two times were not so good. I ordered the unlimited pasta special. Not only were they unimaginative, but the waiter only came to our table once. He passed by several times with empty frying pans (that's how they deliver the pasta to the tables) and said he would be back. We finally gave up and left. Also, it's a limited menu and some things that are supposed to come off gourmet are just tasteless and weird! I would try another restauarant until Lidia does some quality control.

My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day and I loved it. The staff was very friendly and acommodating, but never got in our way. The rooms were dimly lit with tall tables and landscapes of what seemed to be Italy on the walls. The food was amazing! I ate so much, I didn't have room for dessert but I would definitely come here again.

Been here many times. Requested a upstairs table and didn't get it. The antipasto they served us was way to vinegary, and we had to ask for a 2nd plate of it to feed the 7 people who ordered the pasta special. They gave it to us , but we shouldn't have had to ask. The tip was included already 18% of the tab. The 2 people who got the veal were not that impressed although the portion was huge it looked greasy with pancetta on top. The 3 pasta's were not great, very ordinary. Shrimp and arugula, not high quality shrimp or flavor, ravioli stuffed with beet, with mint and butter, funny combo and tasteless as well and probably the best pasta was the spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce. We went at 8 o'clock and the place was still jammed packed. All in all we go there because it is the best deal, but I think more attention should be payed by Lidia to the food. I think it is inconsistent and it depends how big your party is and what time you go but the last 2 times I went we were disappointed

After attending a mattine at the theater my husband and I planned to go to Becco's for an early dinner. We enjoyed our time there. The service was excellent and the food supberb! We especially want to thank our waiter. He was attentive and had very helpful suggestions!

My mom, daughter (6) and I ate here tonight (01/08/05) after seeing Beauty and the Beast. We were very pleased! Our first impression came from our waiter Travis who was exceptional. The selection of breads, spread and olives were a nice touch. Although my daughter is daring in her food choices Travis said they would be happy to make a bowl of pasta for her with butter or marinara sauce, which I thought was nice. She had shrimp though. I had the mixed seafood over polenta and my mom had a striped bass special. All were delicious! The manager made a point to visit each table after they received their food to be sure everything was fine. Although we did not take advantage of the extensive wine list it was tempting. What a selection and the price is right. Every bottle of wine is $25.00. The only negative thing I could say was that it was loud. We happened to be seated next to a table of 14 celebrating a birthday and who HAD taken advantage of the extensive wine list. We came in at the tail end of their night and once they left the noise level did drop some. I overheard a man at another table say it may be due to the low ceiling. We each had dessert, cannollis and cheesecake which were wonderful. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable for NYC. We would definitely go back.
