On a recent trip to NYC we wandered into Becco's after seeing a play. Becco's was the most wonderful experience we could have hoped for. I cannot imagine getting such a wonderful meal with such an authentic flavor, flair and ambience this side of Europe. Our daughter was enthralled. The food was beyond parallel and they were very accomadating and gracious. Excellent experience. Excellent meal.

I first went to becco oh about 2 or 3 years ago and i absolutely loved it ! despite the crowd the owners accomidated us in every way possible and we got a table very shortly after . they had a special which was an octopus trio which was to die for! followed by a main course with 3 types of pasta! the setting is very cute and comfortable. I have been going back ever since and if you ever do go to becco do try and get the octopus trio!

We had 6 :00 reservation. We arrived at 5:30 and was seated as soon as a table ame available, shortly after we arrived. The service was excellent. The host was friendly. The waiters were not only friendly but extremely helpful. The menus and specials were explained to us with a little history of the restaurant. I had the three pasta appetizer and veal dish. The 3 pasta appetizer was wonderful. My favorite pasta was served with the bolognese sauce. The veal melted in my mouth and the cheese and sauce were fresh and very tasty. My wife had a seafood dish. I of course tasted the dish and loved it. I don't get to come to the city a lot, but I will make Becco's my first choice for dinner

We had the good fortune to visit Becco previously before a show with and at the suggestion of my brother and his girlfriend. We had a wonderful time even though we were running a little late and had to hurry. We all enjoyed Sifonia di Pasta and the Chef's pasta selections and made it to the show on time knowing we'd be back to try more of he menu. The opportunity came this past Monday with a day off and seats to an evening with Van (the man) Morrison at the Garden. Naturally we arrived 45 minutes before dinner starts so we did what comes naturally-sat at the bar. We had such a genuinely nice time there thanks to our bartender and oor waitor, the bar became a table for two. Becco has an extraordinary selection of wine and I don't mean extraordinary in a pretentious expensive vintage names even a beer drinker (no offense to beer drinkers) would recognize way. I mean wines with extraordinary taste, depth, and value. Becco is known for its" value" wine list of varieties for $25.00 and maybe next time I'll get to try a bottle. I just can't get over the reserve wines which are also a great value (i.e. a 10 year old velvety Barolo for $85.00). Wines that you can't buy for less at home, so we had to try them. We also discovered that the Sifonia di Pasta and the Chef's daily pasta selections were only $9.00 with your entrees. I had an outstanding veal chop and my wife had the lamb(unusual for us both to order meat) both prepared exactly as ordered and perfectly complimented by garlic mash potatoes and vegetables. Our meal was followed by a refreshing glass of sweet wine selected for us along with a dessert sampler that was so good it couldn't possibly be good for you. If you enjoy really good food, really good drink, surrounded by really friendly people, then you have to eat here, because I'm an American of Italian descent and my mother taught me that was the Italian way (since in Italy cooking is diff)

We did not have a reservation and while waiting for a table at the bar we had the most fun. The bartenders had endless olives and breadsticks and a very good drink list and their knowledge of wine was amazing. When a table was available we decided to just eat at the bar b/c we were having so much fun learning from the bartenders. I have been there twice since and just go straight for the bar. Plus their homemade pastas are amazing!

Our evening was set - we had reservations at Becco and We were looking forward to a special performance of The Odd Couple. We were a group of 5 and none of us had eaten at Becco before. Two in the group had the special of the day a sliced steak dish. Another had the shrimp & scallop dish with the lobster sauce from the menu, my sister had a chicken dish and I opted for the pasta of the day. The steak dishes were quite nicely proportioned and delicious. The seafood dish of shrimps and scallops in a lobster sauce were just a beautiful sight to see and from what I heard just a wonderful taste to enjoy. My sister had enjoyed her chicken dish and I was very pleased with the 3 pasta's - a rigatoni with a light tomato sauce with lots of fresh basil, the vegetable cannelloni in a bechamel sauce was wonderful and the linguini in bolgenese sauce was fantastic. Four at the table ordered the house appetizer plate which gave you a great assortment of hot dishes from shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, eggplant rolletine and baked clams. The Cesar Salad that the four had with dinner was a very large portion as well. I choose the hot antipasto that came along with my pasta of the day - 2 plates arrived 1 with samplings of calamari in a wonderful vinegrete and swordfish in a tomato sauce, both delicious. The other plate held my grilled vegetables with a great serving for 1. We all shared in some nice choices of wine and the desserts! Wow, we're chocolate lovers - 2 of us had the special dessert of the day a baked chocolate custard/cake served along with a serving of a raspberry sorbet and I had shared with the 3 of us a delicious chocolate cake that sent us all over the edge. Great start to a fantastic evening, Bravo... we are all looking forward to returning to Becco.

With the exception of the pasta sampler, all the food we have been served at Becco has been delightful. The front room was noisy before a matinee (as what restaurant on the street is not), but they managed to shoehorn me in at 12:40, serve me a delicious and filling antipasto with great bread and get me out in plenty of time for the show. This is not easy for any restaurant to do (I have been a restauranteur and know whereof I speak) and they do it with such good grace. We return any time we are in midtown and are very pleased.
