The all you can eat 3 pasta dinner, and the huge lists of wines for $25. This is one of my favorite NYC places! I have been going for years and have NEVER had a bad meal. Sometimes are more crowded than others, and the tables can be small and cramped. But that is it for any thing that is not the most Positive.. I have NO idea what the complaints are and I really do NOT believe them. As stated, I have been here dozens of times day and night... early and late and never had anythig but wonderful food and service. GO but you really do have to make reservations in advance (and for pre show or wkend, make them days in advance. A GREAT bargain - a wondreful place!

I and two friends ate here for a Sunday lunch in 12/08. We wanted to dine on Saturday, but didn't have a reservation. But we were able to make one for Sunday instead. The food was SO good. I loved every bite. We had three different types of bread brought out before we ordered. We all had the prixe-fix, three different types of pastas that is served with an anti-pasti. Everything tasted great and the price was such a value for the theatre district. I highly recommend dining here, but please, make a reservation in advance.

We had a lovely dinner, great service, excellent wine but our table was so small we had to pile extra dishes in our bread basket! Get rid of the tiny table in the room beyond the bar. And we had a reservation! Save tiny tables for walk -ins!

My best freind and I were in NYC right after Christmas. After reading every menu on the block, we ventured into Becco. We had a delicious lunch and great service. We decided to go back that same evening for drinks and appitizers. We sat and the bar and were treated like queens. By the time we left, we had three different glasses of wine in front of us to try, a special beer (which I can't remember the name) dessert wine and a glass of champagne too! Everyone was so warm and inviting, even the other patrons sitting next to us. Did I mention that the food was also our favorite in the city? I can't wait to return in June!

I was skeptical since it was in the theatre district. I had an out of town guest and we were going to a show. I was so impressed! We were greeted politely. The service was so good that I had to pinch myself. This was NYC? I've been around since 95 and am not used to such friendly service. Get the pasta special. Straight out of the pan. Loved it. I find the other reviews strange. I had a wonderful experience!

Some in our group had been to Becco's previously and were very excited to go back. We were 30 mins early for our reservations and had 1 extra person but we were seated within 10 minutes. After ordering a bottle of red and white wines - or waiter brought us the Bastrianich brand which we enjoyed. We were told the specials but couldn't really understand them since the waiter had a heavy italian accent and knew we were getting a kick out of his delivery. We knew we were going with the family style dinner so we didn't ask any questions. We chose to do the family style dinner which was anti-pasto, ceaser salad, the three daily pastas (all you can eat) plus vegetables, a steak dish, lemon chicken dish and swordfish dish. Any group of 6 or more can do this family style option. For our group - they brought out 2 dishes of each which was more than plenty. We felt bad we couldn't eat it all. The family style dinner was $34.00 per person. The three pasta dishes were spaghetti w/ tomato and basil, penne with broccoli and a turkey sausage tortellini. These were fine - nothing bad to say about them but I've had better selections - my favorite being the mushroom ravioli w/ sage butter sauce. Everything else was fantastic - the swordfish had no fish taste - even the 5 year old in our group liked it, the chicken was made with olives and on a bed of sautéed swiss chard, the steak was done perfectly, nice char on the outside...Also had dishes of garlic mashed potatoes and spinach w/ garlic. The desserts were yummy - my favorite was the panne cotta also had bread pudding, chocolate mouse and cheesecake along with a sampling of 4 different gelatos. We also enjoyed a range of coffee, espresso, cappachino, etc to cap everything off. The only negative was the bathrooms - the place is so packed that three individual bathrooms just are not enough. But you do get to watch the kitchen while waiting.
