    don't bother!

I'd had high hopes for this place being a big fan of Lidia but I was dissapointed. It was crowded, which is to be expected in a "Restaurant Row" place but the food was not worth the price. I got the 3 pastas meal and it was awful. The caesar salad was soggy and there was very little of it. The nettle pasta explained why people do not normally eat nettles unless they are starving ( I almost choked on it! ). The fettucini with mushrooms and prosciutto had almost no sauce and the prosciutto was all fat. The pasta with tomato & basil was passable but ALL the pasta was served ice cold. The staff were polite but I still left the place hungry not having been able to eat most of what I ordered. Don't bother!

    Oversalted

My lady friend had the skirt steak, I had the swordfish steak. We both had salads. The place was noisy and tables very close together. WWhen I dine at a place like that, I expect the food to be great. It wasn't. The salads were good (a Ceasar's and a mixed garden), but nothing to write home about. The skirt steak was well-prepared and served. The swordfish was well-nigh inedible--thin, dried out and over seasoned and especially over-salted. While the waitton was sweet and pert, she was late with the entree. I will not return...

    Can't wait to go back

This place was so fantastic. I can not wait to visit NYC to go to Becco again. I had the pork chop, which the server suggested. I think I made a noise with every bite. I can not stop talking about this place. I would suggest this place!!!

    felt like we were family

We stumbled upon Becco while wandering around one afternoon and decided to come back for dinner that evening. The food, which was much better than average Italian, was not our reason for multiple returns. The staff who made us feel comfortable and at home were the reason. After theater dinners can be a little hectic as are most places in the area. Sunday and Monday evenings, we found out, were the best nights for not being rushed. They had an all you can eat pasta special, which was wonderful if you can eat that much. but anything on the menu was great. Last time we even brought my 80 yr. old mother who loved the place. Make reservations.

    Happy 73rd

Such a meal. The Rib eye and swordfish were fabulous. I highly recommend this space.

    You should go!

This is a very good restaurant. I went with 5 friends and we had a lovely table. The service was terrific and our particular server was very accomodating. We shared the 3 pastas as an app and it was delicious as was the chicken dinner I ordered. Yes, it's crowded but it's a pre-theater favorite and it really clears out once theater goers get on their way.

    There are better places

We were disappointed. They try to squeeze as many tables as they can into this place. If your table is near the bar, the customers there are close enough to eat your food. The food was good but I expected better from Lidia.
