    Awesome Ossobucco

    My husband and I dined at Becco while in New York recently. The food was terrific; service good and atmosphere lively. The ossobucco was tremendous; we also loved the $25 bottle wine selection. Nice menu choices. We would definitely recommend if you're in town for a show.

    No big deal!

    I took my bf here for dinner Saturday night and we were both dissapointed! He had Ossobucco and i had the Veal Shop...they were both bland... barely had any seasoning!! at all. I must say the best part of my meal (i had Veal Chop) was the mash potatoes. on a good note, we needed to get the nasty bland flaovors from our palate and ordered the desert sampler. The pannacotta and itialian chessecake were amazing--but not good enough for me to return.

    Memorable Anniversary Dinner

    My husband and I absolutely loved our anniversary dinner at Becco. The place was certainly packed to the gills and the tables were a bit "cozy" but we enjoyed talking to our gracious neighbors. Service was more than adequate and our waiter chose a great wine (all bottles are $25!) to go with our meal. The food was definitely the shining star of our dining experience. From the quality breads and Cesar salad to the calf liver sauteed in onions and panceta with crispy polenta on the side to the final bite of canolli, my meal was a masterpiece of flavors and textures. Truly, I had never had a better cannoli!! Can't wait to go back. P.S. Word of advice....skip the pasta trio and splurge a little on the entrees, you won't be disappointed.

    We were very disappointed. The bistecca was juicy and tasty, but so fatty that half had to be left on the plate. The Pasta Trio was hardly worth praise. It included mushroom ravioli that was undercooked, as well as rigatoni and pomodoro, and a rabbit ragu that were fine. Nothing I could not find easily in my own kitchen and certainly not memorable. It seems the restaurant must be cutting costs. I remember enjoying my meal here about 5 years ago.

    Two days in a row!

    Love Becco! I will admit we I try to go whenever I am in the city. I had a friend with me this time who ordered the lasagna, which I have to admit I am not a fan of - it has nutmeg in it...but my friend liked it so much she wanted to go the next day to get the same thing! I usually get the pasta special which is always tasty...loved the antipasto and/or ceasar salad, olives are delicious! The pasta's the first day were spaghetti w/ tomato/basil, pasta with roast beef - my fav of the three and macaroni and cheese. The 2nd night was again the spaghetti w/ tomato/basil, pasta with veal ragu (has a unique flavor) and mushroom ravioli. Love it! Will be back! Oh - and their Iced Tea is excellent.

    This is the real deal.

    My wife and I have dined here probably 10 times over the years, while traveling in NYC. This year, we decided to bring our 8-year-old along. This place never fails to amaze us. The food -- and it's authentic Italian food -- is fabulous, the servers are friendly and personable, and the atmosphere is an entertaining blur, as the servers move from table to table. I really don't know how they do it. We first came to Becco's in 1996, and the prices are only slightly higher now than they were then. I come from a long line of fabulous Italian cooks, and I can't stress enough how the food at Becco's is the real deal. Anyone who questions the food quality at this restaurant doesn't know his ass from his elbow. Go to this restaurant and have one of the best meals you'll ever have. Buy a nicely priced bottle of wine. Laugh. Eat. Enjoy.

    Veal Chops Of The Century

    Okay - just to clarify - I did not order the Veal Chops and it was a terrible mistake. Thats not to say the Pasta trio was not good -- to the contrary, it was excellent!! But....the Veal Chops that my wife and mother-in-law ordered were probably the best things I have ever tasted (no lie or exageration). Service was excellent Pasta, again, was excellent. Dining space is on the small side and the bathrooms are situated in weird places but overall this was a great experience and I will return to order my own Veal Chop soon...
