Coming to New York for a sisters weekend, we expected top notch dining and Becco's delivered. If only Lidia would open a restaurant in Vancouver.

I have been to Becco's many times -I always bring people from out of town to this amazing restaurant. this time, it was different - we were a party for eight, seated promptly at a nice table - the bread and appetizers for the prix fixe came right away. But the pasta choices were boring (really - pasta with a bland tomato sauce as one of the three pastas?- put it on the kids menu- not for an adult), and the service was poor (pasta servers had to begged to come back, plates left in front of us for 20 minutes), and the dessert sampler was a joke. did we just get unlucky, or have they stopped trying? I may give them one more try, but there are other places to try - they may have lost me to a place that is still trying to make it to the top.

Food was decent but wait staff was completely obtuse. wanted to switch the risotto for pasta (which is cheaper & they had a TON of) and the staff would not accommodate. this very simple request was also for a child. After we made a fuss the manager came back & said it would not be a problem, however, there would be an add'l $8 charge for the plate. I would've walked out but we were a large party and waited an hour for a table. NEVER AGAIN

I got the combo of 3 pastas, with high hopes. The most unappetizing pasta I've had in a long time. The waitress was rude as well. Would never go back, although the ambiance was warm.

we were able to have a reservation after a play w/out being hurried at all. We found the menu varied but lady at next table ordered the pasta special which looked and smelled so good. we chose different apps his the grilled veggies and accompaniments I the Caesar ...couldn't have been better. The pasta was beet and goat cheese ravioli , bow-tie pasta and fresh tomato and basil and linguini and fresh clams! They come back by as often as you would like more which we did. I wish I had not enjoyed the salad so much leaving more room for the pasta. This was a delicious, friendly restaurant that we will definitely return to. The variety of breads also yummy.

The four of us enjoyed eveything about becco so much that we ate there 2 out of 5 nights in nyc this week! The staff was very happy and friendly and our seating was up to our choice. Wonderful food and we were prepared to spend more, but not neccessary...great.

We went here after a play. We have lived in NY for 13 years and I think this is the most underwhelming Italian restaurant we have ever been to. Had high expectations because we like Lidia, but this place is totally abandoned and the crew running it is rude, the restaurant feels unclean. This would have all been tolerable had the food been good. All three of us got the 'all you can eat' pasta for 20-some dollars which is the only way you can eat any past dishes in this restaurant. All we could eat was three bites total, and I'm going to guess this is how they make their money because I cannot imagine anyone eating more than one serving of what came out of that kitchen. It was as disappointing as pasta that a first time cook makes in college. With so many thousands of Italian restaurants in NYC I would suggest you SKIP this tourist trap.
