Three words best describe our experience...
Three words best describe our experience: Fabulous, Exemplary and Memorable! The ambience is an amazing example of Art Deco, the service was unbelievable and the food, well, suffice it to say if this was my last meal (hopefully not) I'd be eternally grateful we'd chosen The Beacon. As Arnold so aptly put: We'll be back and with friends... Thank you for a wonderful evening!

eh, okay if your middle aged and boring
The atmosphere was okay, it was very ordinary. Everything about the place was ordinary. My boyfriend and I got a pitcher of sangria, and it was the most watered down thing I have ever drank. I got the tuna burger and he got the regular burger. It was okay, not terrible, but nothing to come back for. The fries were awful. The service wad great however

Sunday Supper was Terriffic!
I made reservations for a party of 14 Sunday. The restaurant is laid out in a chic, yet understated way. Service was accommodating and attentive. The food was a visual delight and scrumptuous. We took advantage of the BYOB option and the waiters made sure our wine glasses were never empty! The hostess accommodated the special requests for the group with graciousness and with great attention to detail. I will definitely come again and recommend Beacon to my friends!

Brunch Bust
We love Beacon for dinner and decided to try it for a special birthday brunch. Our reservation was for 10:30 AM -- right when it opened. However, when we arrived we had to wait 25 minutes for our table -- even though the place was totally deserted. When the hostess started to lead us to our table the phone rang and she picked it up -- and had a five minute conversation! Then she took us -- including three 80 year olds -- down a set of stairs to our table. That would have been fine except there's this goofy set-up where they have you go back up (and then down of course)the stairs to take advantage of a Continental breakfast spread -- juice, coffee, bagels, pastries -- that were laid out on the bar. What's with toasting your own bagels at Beacon? It was very Holiday Inn. Service was a bust -- they didn't stand aside when a diner was walking through, very bumbling. Food was OK but overpriced and some of it definitely looked like it was leftover from the past week. Darkest restrooms in the Northern Hemisphere. Not an experience we would like to repeat.

2 For Lunch
Wonderful value! 20% off a la carte menu. 24.01 menu still in effect . Great service-very tasty food in very ample portions. Terrific drink. We will return.

poor service
Went here last night with a couple of girlfriends and we were obviously pegged as insignificant by everyone from the waitstaff there. We waited over 40 minutes at the bar for our table when there were obviously tables free. Then our service was just abmismal! Our 8pm dinner reservation didn't get us out of there until 11:30. Food was good - not amazing but decent. However, I won't go back and will encourage anyone who asks to not patronize this restaurant...I don't know if any other women who appreciate food out there get the same thing but I am tired of being given poor service just because I am dining with women! I always tip generously but last night was an exception - one that I was not the least be sorry to make.

Great place to go during Restaurant Week
The prix fixe dinner was wonderful. Good size portions for the price of $35 pp, it was well worth it.
