I was at the BBQ's on 8th street between 6th avenue in the west village on 3/28/2014. I usually enjoy my service and food at the many locations I visit to eat. On this day I was served a chicken meal that was dry and burnt. I asked my server if my meal could be changed because the guest I went with ordered the same meal and her food looked moist and delicious. My server told me that he was not able to change my plate of food, so I asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over and told me that all the chicken is cooked the same and there was nothing he could do. I addressed the issue by telling him that the plate on the other side of me was more appetizing than mine and the food was burnt and dry, please change my food for another fresher meal. The manager told me that they all come out the same and that if he changes it and it is burnt again he will not change it, you have to take it as it is and that the chicken cost him money. So I told him ok please change it for a moist chicken. After several minutes they bring out a plate and it was the same plate I previously had. How do I know, I had cut the chicken a certain way and all he did was steamed it a little and folded the chicken back over and served it back to me. I decided not to make a scene but have decided not to return to that restaurant again. I am furious about the type of service provided to me as a customer and for the manager to tell me that the chicken cost him. Even though I didn't eat my meal, I did pay for it and left. I wanted to make sure customer service and upper management was informed about they type of service they provide over on 8th street in the west village The Response from email to Dallas BBQ I believe all should know this comment below: That store is not part of the Dallas BBQ Chain. That is "BBQ" not Dallas BBQ. We are truly sorry for your bad experience,

Depending on the day, sometimes you get a nice Early Bird portion, sometimes you don't. There are 2 sure things about this place, 1st the drinks are amazing, with or without the shot. 2nd, the old english hag and the scruffy bum who are always there for happy hour stink. Don't sit next to them. The guy gets obnoxious when drunk.

I read some of the other people comments but I honestly got to say when do they go to get this bad service everytime I go with my best friend and people I use to be friends with the food was always great and the service was wonderful. My opinion may not affect how anyone feel but I alway enjoy myself if yah are feeling any type of way don't write about talk to the store owner or manager and say how you feel.

The corn bread, although burnt a bit, was good, the coleslaw good, the BBQ ribs awful...they were dry, taseless, topped with a huge amount of thick sauce. I wasn't offered water and waited a long time for the waiter to bring the check. Upon leaving the host totally ignored me not even a have a nice day. It will be a long, long time before I go back there if ever.

I have eaten here at least 8 times over the past 5 months and have been very happy. I love the early bird dinner and my service has always been between acceptable and excellent. The drinks are also wonderful, but I prefer them when the weather is warmer than it is now.

They haven't reinvented themselves after the move, but they have managed to re-establish their basic early bird $5 value. I drop-in for late lunch or early dinner, get the $5 tender juicy chicken, basic baked potato and pretty good corn bread. It's weird that a large Diet Coke costs half the price of the meal but for $10, I'm outta' there, including tip. Service has been respectful and pretty attentive. Cheap, predictable and satisfying. I know where to go when I want want they got.
