Is there a Battery Gardens?
Twice in thest year my wife and I have been "bumped" at the last minute from our dinner resrvations at Battery Gardens. We live near Washington, DC, and getting to NYC involves planning, energy and expense. But despite reservations made through OpenTable weeks in advance, we have been "bumped" with little advance notice because of a "wedding party." Bull----: wedding parties are arranged months in advance! The management of Battery Gardens should hang its head in shame! Next time we'll book one of the 5,000 other restaurants in Manhattan! Thanks for nothing!

Wonderful downtown restaurant
This is a beautiful place with a terrific view and tasty food. I recommend waiting until the weather is warm to enjoy the patio.

fantastic date spot
My boyfriend and I are on a tight budget-- think beer and pizza as a typical night out. We were itching for a romantic dinner with great atmosphere and excellent food, and we absolutely got it here. I made reservations ahead of time for sunset and asked to be seated outside. We sat along the fence overlooking the harbor and Statue of Liberty under a tree strung with lanterns. Gorgeous! We each got a glass of wine, and our entrees were great (the mango bbq chicken and filet mignon). Our waiter was very attentive, and where we were sitting, it felt like we were the only people there. We shared a chocolate dessert and got tea and coffee. It began to lightly rain as we were finishing up, and our waiter rushed to get our check. The food is very reasonably priced, and the food and service were both exceptional. We were happy to spend what we did on the meal. As we were walking from the outdoor seating area through the restaurant towards the front door, our waiter apologized profusely for not having an umbrella to offer us. We casually walked through the rain to the subway, contentedly full after the delicious meal and very happy to have spent such a wonderful night together.

eh
We knew it could be poor value for money due to it being in a tourist hot spot with a lovely view. That said food was surprisingly good if a bit overpriced. What we were upset by was the fact that we asked for 1 bottle of water, they tried to give us a second ,we refused and they charged us for 2 anyway, and also charged us for 4 coffees when we had 2. They changed the bill , with little apology. Service was already included and the credit card bill still offered us to tip on top-certainly not! summary good place , but watch your bill!

Stay Away
The location is incredible, the Harbor View room overlooks the Statue of Liberty. The food, however, was terrible. It was uninteresting and the fish was dry. The service was truly unpleasant. Overpriced, overcooked, underserved. Stay away!!!

Great Food, Bad Service
The food was great. The waiter could have cared less that we were there.
