One of the very best dining experiences I have had in Manhattan over the last five years. While not inexpensive, four great tasting, beautifully presented and unique courses for $75 is a relative bargain. In addition, the extensive wine list has many reasonably priced options to complement the food. The room is simple, low keyed, nicely lit and just exudes a good feeling. Service is informal, casual and unpretentious (as is the dress code) but the servers are knowledgable and helpful. People in the restaurant seemed to be truly enjoying the overall dining experience. On the evening I dined, Mr. Nieporant was there himself overseeing the proceedings and running about like a proud father. There is no other food like this in Manhattan! Can't wait to return.

Food for the most part is okay. Ordered the duck breast that was so hard I had to struggle to cut it with a knife. Left about 1/3 on my plate. Told my server I was very unhappy with it. When I saw I was charged in full, I called over the manager who replied that since I ate most of it regardless of my complaint, he was charging me the full price. No apology. Won't be returning. Never been treated so rudely in any restaurant.
