Great dinner Saturday: special appetizer: mozarella balls wrapped in proschiutto, warmed - Yummy! -- we shared two entrees. Ate the more delicate and fantastic one first: Fagottino Alla Polpa Di Aragosta homemade crepes filled with a confit of fresh lobster, oven baked and served with a tomato and chive veloute sauce - the crepes are shaped like pouches. Delicious! Followed by a hearty and flavorful Papardelle All Abruzzese Con Ragu Di Cinghiale homemade papardelle pasta with wild boar ragu’ sauce, abruzzese style. A great combination, best enjoyed sequentially. Lovely Montepulchiano wine accompanied. Will continue to return again and again.

Everything about this place is amazing. My husband made a reservation here for our 1 year anniversary. We got there a little early and sat at the bar. Very friendly bartender with great cocktails. Once seated we had a quick and friendly introduction from the server. he answered all questions we had about the menu. We were later asked to move over 1 table to accommodate for a larger party, which we did not mind doing in the slightest. They then showed their gratefulness by giving us a free appetizer, free dessert and 2 free drinks. Our dinner was amazing. my husband ordered the Cappellini Fruti Di mare E Rucola and I ordered the Fileto Di Manzo al Tarfuo. The steak was melt in your mouth - the best I have ever had. Ever. My husband was obsessed with his dish as well - amazing sauce. We were stuffed. For the service and food received it is well worth the price. I highly suggest going here. We will definitely be going again soon!

Even after changing our seating two times the staff was very accommodating. I objected sitting where I had full view of kitchen. A screen in that area would be helpful. The staff was very professioinal and the food was exceptioinal. For our next Carnegie visit we will be sure to return.

My friends and I were at Basso 56 on Friday and we all loved it. Our waitress was the bomb and so was the food. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I took my mother here for dinner before a concert at Carnegie Hall and we both loved it. The service was beyond excellent and the food was very delicious. Felt very authentic. It was a little bit more pricey than our usual dinner out, but we both enjoyed it so much that it felt well worth the few extra bucks.
