Dinner before Comedy
The atomsphere was like being in Italy. The place is small, quaint, and very accomodating. The special dishes were like home-cooked meals made by Mama. And the prices were a relief compared to surrounding restaurants. It's a place you will want to visit time and again.

Keep coming back for more!
I've enjoyed Basilica since the first week it opened and recommend it to anyone interested in excellent food at gentle prices in the Theatre District. Amazingly well-prepared food from such a tiny kitchen and well worth the prices. It has been my "Go-To" choice whenever I've needed a reliable place to eat before or after a concert or theatre, or a spot to take visitors and friends. While quite small (like most other restaurants nearby), the ambience is always warm and inviting, the staff unerringly attentive and helpful. Especially cozy in the Winter months! Sparse, but amusing decor on exposed brick walls. Arrive early to avoid the theatre crush, but linger afterward. Having tried many other area restaurants, I am always sure to be satisfied at Basilica. Like I said, I keep coming back for more!

Wonderful Experience
I and my wife ate there and the food was superb. This restaurant is a standout in the theater district, and it is worth the wait to get in. Exceptional value, great food at a great price served by an excellent staff.

Good food, good service, good value
The home-made pasta was great and the waiter service was excellent. Best of all the price was very reasonable.

Disappointment
We made a reservation and we still had to wait 20 minutes. The place was so crowded. They gave us a table for 4 and we had 5 people, so we had to make due. We heard many wonderful things about the food and it did not live up to expectations. I do have to say, our server was very good. It's just ashame the food wasn't.

We always go back....
We discovered this restaurant about 5 years ago and have eaten there about 6 times. We always say "let's try something new this time" but we just have not found a place with such wonderful food, service and reasonable prices. It is also a perfect location to the theaters, just a couple blocks away. I love this restaurant and if you go try the Chicken Sorrentino, a stuffed chicken breast with spinach and mozzerella, it is the best!

Best kept secret in Hell's Kitchen
This is one of the best restaurants in NYC. It's a tiny, charming place that's big on the quality of food it serves. Gianni is the best host in the city and makes sure everything goes well with your meal. Nice selections of wine and food. Plus you can't beat the prices. Try this little gem, you won't be disappointed.
