    Great!

I came here on a Saturday night at 9:00 with my boyfriend. We walked in and I was surprised that it looked empty in the front, but then we were seated in a huge back/outdoor area, which was beautiful! We each had a glass of Barbera which was great, split melon and procutto (special that night), I had the spaghetti al cartoccio, he had the rigatoni alla buttera. The spaghetti had a lot of seafood in it - more than I was expecting! We were both very pleased with the entire night!

    Absolutely excellent!

Came here for a friend's birthday a few nights ago. Had a large reservation of 14 people, and Barolo was just perfect. The outdoor garden is gorgeous, the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The garden is romantic and dimly lit. The waiters took our drink and dinner orders and brought out the food all within 20 minutes. Highly Recommended!

    Great food, lousy service

Went for a RW dinner last night. The food options, presentation and taste were all excellent. Highly recommend the spinach and strawberry salad. I had a big problem with the service though. The place was pretty empty and yet we had to wait a long time to order and then our waiter basically disappeared the rest of the meal. And I had to flag him down to order a cup of coffee. And it wasn't just me; the people at the table next to me were constantly complaining about how they couldn't get the waiter's attention. So go for the food but don't expect good service.

    Great outdoor atmosphere, rude service

Been there 3 times with my boyfriend. Each time food is great but the service is extremely poor. We kept going back because of food and outdoor garden area, but will never go again after the way the seating hostesses and waitresses treat you. Extremely poor service. Don't expect to be wined and dined.

A Classic-- and with Good Reason!

Everything about Barolo proves why it has been around for so long, and yet still continues to be one of the most popular Soho hotspots. Great people-watching, an award-winning wine-list, delicious and authentic Northern Italian cuisine, friendly and attentive service and staff, and not to mention the most exquisite outdoor space in the city. Must-haves include the Carne all'Albese, the Caprese, and the Tuna Tartare appetizers, the AMAZING Apple Ravioli, the Filetto al Barolo, and the Orecchia d'Elefante Milanese-- though I must say each and every dish I've tried here has been consistently delicious! The Tiramisu' for dessert is perfection, and the original and interesting Basil Pannacotta is certainly worth a try too. The sommelier is a field expert and a gracious guide (ask to see the full, unabridged wine-list-- it is truly a treat!), and he even offered us a tour of the extensive wine cellar downstairs! A great spot for a romantic date, for an evening with friends, or for a lunch with family. Thank you, Barolo!

Good food, good service, great outdoor sitting

We were group of 4 people. The hostess was really accommodating. They were all booked for the night in garden area, so when we reserved the place, we were informed that they can not promise us outdoor sitting. By waiting few extra minutes, we did got an outdoor table. Food was good. Highly recommend pesto sauce dish. Desserts & wine choices were good as well. Overall, service was satisfying. This is great place for groups. For couples, it may not be most romantic on weekend nights if you are outdoor. Garden area was really beautiful..reminded us of a very fine dine restaurant in Venice. will def go back again

    Excellent!

After looking for a nice Italian restaurant in or near SOHO, I happened to come across Barolo here on menu pages. I was looking for something exactly with the type of atmosphere they had there, a garden, terrace, etc. It was excellent, restaurant was very nice, clean, and service was great and very attentive. Food was excellent as well, ordered Penne Vodka pasta, and Linguini with clams, dont remember exact names but over all food was great. Wine presentation and server was good also. Definitely recommend this place and definitely going back soon.
