You'll enjoy your meal more, and gain greater value for it too, if you stick with the appetizers. Highly recommend the pizzette, but no such love for the ricotta ravioli, which was undercooked and bland. Waste of precious pasta calories! The cocktails are creative and refreshing.

From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere, this place epitomizes what is great about NYC. The menu is incredibly eclectic, drawing from all the great regions in the world, and the drinks are works of art - the watermellon lemonade is a resreshing retreat for the steamy days of summer, and the brazilian sangria will drive you wild and put you in the mood. Whatever your fancy, you are bound to find something that you will enjoy at Barmarche. Plus-its located in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in NYC.

My friend and I were shopping last week in Soho and looking for a place to have a nice late lunch and a few cocktails. We passed by Barmarche, saw the doors and windows wide open, peeked in, and saw the most charming place. We dropped our bags, sat down, and settled in. I had the chicken salad with peanut sauce - not a typical peanut sauce - very light but flavorful. My friend had the grilled shrimp salad with feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, and get this, watermelon. It was amazing! Well, add to that several brazilian sangrias, and next thing we knew we had been there for over 2 ? hours. Great thing was, the waiter never even attempted to rush us out. We will definitiely go back again, and take more friends. :)

Barmarche has an amazing atmosphere - crisp white everything, candlelight dancing, drippy chandeliers get a downtown feel when wrapped in Lucite boxes... it's a visual feast to say nothing yet of the delicious food. We started with the lemonade-watermelon-vodka cocktail on the summer drink menu that we unanimously decided should be renamed "summer in a glass." It's that good and reminiscent of lazy outdoor summer days. On to a 9 course tasting menu - amazing presentation, description and just beautiful flavors. Black West Indies Tuna with Vanilla Basil topped it for me! Barmarche has a great vibe, is beautiful, unpretentious and delicious.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and simply loved it! It has a great warm, cozy atmosphere; the drinks at the bar are great (rum ginger is perfect for the summertime); the service was friendly and while we waited the hostess kept us regularly updated on the status of our table; and the food was delicious! Everything had wonderful, distinct flavors. Best of all, it wasn't overpriced or at all snooty. Excellent place for a date or a small group of friends.

This place is fabulous! I have been with a big group of friends for dinner and for brunch on the weekend with my husband. Each time the food and service was exceptional. I love the fact that the place is chic and hip yet completely comfortable. The cocktail list is also a major plus - new innovative drinks as well as some old classics that you don't see around much of anymore. Highly recommended!

I joined my girlfriend at this place after work one day in February, the food and drinks were so good that night that we vowed to come back, I particularly wanted to find out if their food was that good on a consistent basis. We've been back several times since without disappointment. The cucumber martini is my favorite and is made just right, the soup is perfect every time, the calamari is addictively good, between us we've had the monk fish, pasta, steak and the cheeseburger which is my particular favorite. The fries are light and crispy with a delicate garlic seasoning. The dessert menu could use some creative expansion but there are plenty of options in the neighborhood for dessert, the atmosphere is cozy (plan to hear the conversations of the table next to you) but tends to get a bit crowded and noisy after 8PM, overall the food is remarkable and most importantly consistently reliable. I?ve been to plenty of restaurants where the food was good but on return visits have been spotty on consistency, thankfully this place is reliably consistent, highly recommended.
